Our lives have been unfortunately filled with major stresses throughout the last 15 months. Valerian pills are mostly stems and roots. I was Thrilled for this recommendation as I scrolled medical websites for quick, effective, and safe stress relief. It was like meeting an Old Friend! Easy to put a few drops under Your tongue or put in water/juice. No added binders or ingredients as in pills/capsules. Non-habit forming. This is why MaryRuth has been a staple for so long!

Definitely has a terrible smell.It has an acquired taste, at first I was like gross, and now I don't mind it.It Definitely helps calm my mind before going to bed.

I was looking for this in a liquid form but alsoOrganic. The taste is good. The first time you take it you will think interesting herbal taste but as you continue every night you will actually enjoy it. My point is don’t try it 1 time and say oh no I’m not goi g to like this.Also, I use less drops then recommended because it works for me!

This stuff smells horrible, no question. But it also works.I've suffered severe insomnia my entire adult life. I was taking an anti-depressant that did improve my sleep, but it also raised my heart rate and blood pressure so I had to stop taking it.I use about 20-30 drops of this in a very small amount of water. It actually has a sweet taste, but the smell is horrible. You can hold your breath while you swallow and it's just a moment of that first deep breath after you swallow where it's worst. I also take melatonin, so I just pop a strawberry melatnonin gummie right after I take the valerian and it's totally manageable.This will take a couple of weeks to really work, but I'm sleeping better than when I was taking prescription medication. The quality of my sleep is improved and I wake up less.It does take getting used to, but for me, it's totally worth it. Given it's relatively inexpensive, I suggest giving this a try if you really struggle.

Great product! I've been struggling with sleep issues for YEARS and I'm so glad I tried this. I am so restless when I sleep that I toss and turn for hours on end, and this has definitely helped relieve it more than anything else Ive tried (and Ive tried just about everything). I do want to say the smell is off putting, but power through as the taste is tolerable. It's potent, I do feel groggy the next morning but it's worth getting sleep as i can go a week or more getting only 3 hours per night or less of sleep and it really affects my health. I'm hoping I will acclimate more over time and the groggy feeling may subside. Definitely worth trying if you have restless sleep, I am happy I did and will repurchase. Here's hoping it will continue to work.

Ok first off, anyone that KNOWS valerian root, knows that it smells very bad. That is just the way it smells, always!But this tincture? Nope. Whom ever is saying this tastes bad, it doesn’t, at all. But guess what? It doesn’t work either.So much for “organic” whatever.I did two droppers in some water, drank it, didn’t even need to follow up with water after because this tastes nothing like valerian I grew up on, where you have to desperately try not to breathe for a few moments not to smell it.I will likely chug the tiny bottle in the next 2 uses.Waste of money.

It didn’t work for me, the bottle was stinky, but the product itself doesn’t taste bad. I tried it different times and didn’t really feel any difference, I ordered this for its calming benefits but I didn’t feel any effect. I had loose stomach the days after using this product so I had to stop the use of it. I was planning to try one of the other vitamins from this brand but not sure after this experience.

I love this product. I have tried different brands of VR and this is by far the one I like most. You get used to the taste after a while but all of the brands taste gross. I do wish they sold a refill bottle so I can feel less wasteful with a new dropper in every bottle.
