the packaging was pretty badly dented up even after removing the shipping box ...
The product arrived on time, the packaging was pretty badly dented up even after removing the shipping box but nothing seamed to be damaged, but the package definitely took a big fall to damage the box like it was. Again the unit seamed to be in good order with no damage. all the components are great quality. The real reason for 3 star is the promise of Pro Tool First ... which is supposed to be a "special version"you can actually down load it for free from Avid's website .. but that not my complaint .. the complaint is that Pro Tools never recognizes the device. There is a driver specially written for using Pro Tool on the Focusrite website and I have tried it out on 4 different PC's now (Windows that is) -- I have created a number of helpdesk tickets with the Focusrite helpdesk and hope that they can resolve it ... Alberton Live works fine (as it actually starts up) .. but Pro Tool was the big selling point for me .... if I get Pro Tools working some how I'll up my starts but for now this was sold as a bundle and the bundle does not live up the promise. -- cheers

Perfect Beginner Musician Set Up
Every Musician uses the Scarlet interfaces. They last for a long time and are easy to use and expand. This bundle comes with so much free software and plugins. The mic and the headphones are great to begin with and will last a while if you're just doing podcasts and streaming. But for singers and such you will need to upgrade sooner than later. This bundle is such a great value so I highly recommend this. You won't be sorry.

Good Package(with a few problems)
The headphones are nice and durable. The interface works nicely with Pro Tools and Reaper but can't be used with FL Studio. The microphone has a decent balanced sound and it is probably going to be good for people like me who like to experiment with microphone placement. The setup works really nicely with proper gain staging and on vocals good microphone placement can significantly improve your sound. The microphone comes with a Euro Mic stand adapter already so don't panic if it doesn't screw into your Mic stand immediately. While I don't like the style of the shock mount, I do like how it screws into the microphone making it allot harder to drop and break. All in all this is a great setup for a beginner, not for any FL Studio users, and should be a great starting point for beginning audio engineers or independent artists looking for a first setup.

Lots of good software came along with this product.
I am writing this review from the perspective of a guitar player, who likes to sing and is interesting in recording songs in the best way I can in an affordable perspective. I am not going to focus on whether this microphone is the best in the market or not since I am not an expert in such areas. What I can tell you is that I am really pleased with this product. It is fairly easy to install. You just need to take some minutes and read the instructions. What makes me give it 5 stars is the fact that I received so much software from this purchase. They hook me up with SW such as pro tools and a bunch of add ons for it that I am yet to learn how to use each and everyone of them. I got an option to choose between 4 different "virtual instruments" from which I choose a grand piano, There was another DAW SW included. The drivers were easy to install. Anyway, I cannot remember all the tools that came with the product but the point is that if you are starting to record this will give you all you need to start and keep your hands busy for a while.

GREAT QUALITY AUDIO
The Focusrite Scarlett Solo Studio Pack (2nd GEN) is great if you wanna get started with doing Voice Overs, commentating, streaming, making videos, and just overall creating good audio. It comes with almost everything needed, the Pre Amp, Microphone, XLR Cable, studio headphones and a mount to connect to a stand or boom arm which is the only thing that is missing. It records at 192kHz / 24 bit so really good quality and you are able to monitor everything in real time and mess with the gain and see if you are peaking. It's well worth it if you are a content creator does make videos and live streams and do a lot of voice overs Focusrite Scarlett Solo Studio (2nd Gen) USB Audio Interface and Recording Bundle with Pro Tools | First

Great buy for the money can’t find a better price
I am just starting out so it will take a little while to learn. but from What I have used it for, it has worked perfectly. Definitely recommend but I would consider getting better headphones. The headphones tend to get your ears pretty sweaty.

Consigliato!!

This is a brilliant product. I purchased it based on reviews of various sources and my oh my this is indeed as expected. I had been using a small home studio setup earlier but this is Focusrite's greatest for beginners. The packaging was great, delivery was in-time, the quality of the condensor mic is absolutely great, feels so small but heavy, the earphones are super clear with a good range of his and mids, the usb interface is sterdy like an old Nokia 3310, I mean it's strong. Overall, pure awesomeness for this price! Best features: 1. Black red color combo is just perfect 2. Interface has a color light which changes depending on volume, so if input volume is high it will be red and if normal will be green 3. Comes with Product Key, so if you register your product with Focusrite you get access to bunch of cool software and highly dicsounted softwares and add-ons.

I love this kit. My old set up had a lot of issues with white noise and clarity, but this sounds so clear. It's gorgeous for recording soft vocals, but it also handles a good belt very well. Top quality, especially for the price. The headphones are comfortable and they sound great too. The interface is so simple to use, there aren't any useless buttons making it confusing. It did not take long to get everything set up and to start testing it! It all looks beautiful too. I've recorded a lot since getting it over a month ago and I'm in love! I'd recommend also getting a mic stand as it's really not a "hold it" mic. I was a little disappointed by the software, I found it confusing (its been a while since I've used music software other than audacity, but I studied music at college and university and used Cubase, logic, sibaleous and pro tools so I hoped I'd be able to figure it out quickly). Pro tools kept crashing, I kept getting messages saying things weren't installed properly, and I had latency issues. That being said I'm working on an old pc so that could be why, just thought I'd add that in case you have an old pc or are particularly interested in the software. The only thing I'm really mad about was the delivery. It was due to arrive before 9pm and I waited at home till 6, but there was a family emergency so I had to leave for a couple of days. I updated the delivery information saying to leave it with my neighbor as I don't have a safe place. I got a notification saying it had been "handed to resident" so I assumed that meant my neighbor had taken it in, however, the next morning my partner said he got a delivery before Christmas (a Kindle, so also not a cheap item), and he waited in for it all day, he got a notification saying it was "handed to resident" but he knew it hadn't been and found it in the bin outside. I asked my dad to go and see if it was in the bin as I was nervous about it being left out and I wouldn't get home till the following morning. He went to my house and saw it behind the bin, as in before he even got into my garden, he could see a big delivery box sitting behind the bin. I like my immediate neighbors, but I don't live in a fancy area, and this was on display for everyone to see. It wasn't even covered, and living in the north of England it rains - a lot! I'm lucky it was still there when dad checked, and that it wasn't damaged by the weather. It would have been more than I could have afforded to replace it. I'm still upset about it, highly unprofessional, which is a shame because it was packaged well and the stuff is great! But how hard could it have been to knock on my neighbors door? Shocking. Overall, I'd say it's excellent, well worth the money, but watch out for delivery.
