what are the dimensions of the container?

The containers I received (second order because I wanted larger) were only 8 1/2 in. x 5 3/4 in. X 1 1/2 in. tall without lid. Will probably hold a standard sandwich cut in half. No way a meal. Will have to return again.

Yes. They stack nicely open or closed. When closed, there is a small "ring" on the outside of the lid to help them stay stacked.
