All the features you need
We wanted a grind-and-brew coffeemaker to replace our last Capresso unit. This Bosenkitchen unit fit the bill. It has a large bean hopper, a burr grinder, and a cone filter. It has a glass carafe that doesn't spill when pouring (the Capresso carafe does at the beginning). It has a small footprint (8x10x17inches), but is fairly tall and may not fit under your kitchen cabinets (ours is on an island). It defaults to grinding, but can handle pre-ground coffee by pressing a button. The coffeemaker comes with one of the gold-screen filters, but will also take paper cone filters. We prefer paper filters as they seem to do a better filtering job. One small drawback is that there is no lid on the filter holder, so water/grounds may splash up onto the bottom of the grinder. We haven't seen this yet, though. The manual is in poorly written English, so you have to do some guesswork as to what they mean.In first-time use, the main adjustment is to get the coffee strength right. There are three controls. First, the coarseness of the grind determines how much coffee is needed. We settled on the second finest setting. Next, there is a number-of-cup selector, from 2 up to 12. This determines how long the grinder operates. We ended up with 8, even though 12 cups of water run through the system. Finally, there is a strength control, low-medium-high. We chose low. With those 3 settings, coffee is strong but not overpowering. I suggest starting weak and adjusting, as the defaults are way strong. The one negative feature is the water reservoir. It is in back of the bean hopper, a skinny rectangle with a flip lid. To fill it, you have to pour from the side, and it is tricky to do so without spilling. Not impossible, but I bet this will be the annoying feature of the unit. All in all, I think this is a pretty good coffeemaker and worth the price. Only time will tell about quality and durability.

Needs a bit of improvement
We mostly like this, but would LOVE it with a few tweaks. 1)The opening to the water reservoir is a bit small, making filling it a bit tricky. 2)Even on the finest grind setting and strongest strength, the coffee still wasn’t as strong as we’re accustomed to, so we have to put in 10 cups of water but set the grinder to grind “12 cups” of beans. Seems to work. 3)The most annoying of all is the 30 minute auto shut-off after brewing, with no way of changing this. Overall, I’d normally only give it a three star rating if it weren’t for the price point, making it a little more tolerable to put up with the features we’d love to see improved.

Coffee Nirvana
I am thrilled with our new coffee maker. The first day I had a good but slightly weaker than I like cup of coffee as I picked the wrong grind choice. The second day was so much better but I’d forgotten the grind basket was in the dishwasher and it started spewing coffee grinds about. Our previous makers would not work if a part was missing or not properly placed so there is room for improvement. Today the third day Nirvana my morning coffee is perfect. I think my favorite part is not having to measure the coffee beans just fill the hopper and choose how many cups and strength you want add water then the touch of a button and you’re all set. I’d thought it’s bit pricey but got a $30 coupon applied and now even if I hadn’t it would have been worth every penny.

Great cup of coffee but annoyed
Makes a great tasting cup of coffee. Very annoying that the carafe warming plate shuts itself off way too soon!!! Doesn’t even stay on for one hour! Otherwise, the fresh coffee is very delicious.

Nothing like fresh ground beans
This machine does everything that the much more expensive machines do. The aroma and flavor of coffee made with fresh ground beans is amazing. The only issue I don't like is that the warmer does not stay on for very long.

Functional
I bought this product a week ago on a gut instinct considering it had no reviews at that time. I am very pleased with how my coffee taste now. The cofee maker is easy to work with and clean afterwards. The only downside: I would have liked to be able to set the number of cups in increments of 1 cup. If you want only one coffee, cannot set it to one cup, gives you 2, 4 ....12. Anyway, good investment.

Good, but maybe not at the price.
Bought this in March of this year, and it was a wonderful step up from our 10 year old black and decker. It still is, but after six months, we are considering getting a different one. The bean tray is wonderful-- it's incredibly satisfying to put beans in the night before, fill up the tank, and wake up to a wonderful pot of fresh ground coffee with no effort. However, we quickly noticed it needs babysitting most of the time it's running, due to the fact that the beans don't always fall into the grinder by themselves, meaning we have to be present to help shove them in under the guard with a baby spoon. It has also started to drip from the corner of the swing out closest to the catch, no matter what the grind size, strength, or amount of coffee selected, so we end up gagging it along the front with a dish towel tucked into the bean lid. It loses two cups of water this way every brew. Overall, a nice step up from a standard drip maker, but as far as convenience and quality, it leaves some to be desired.

Doesn’t grind properly, doesn’t heat properly
Doesn’t automatically grind the coffee beans. After the first brew I was ready to drink my coffee. As I pour a cup, it’s basically almost clear water with a tinge of brown. I look at the filter basket to see how much had ground up. Barely enough to make 2 cups. I check to ensure my grinder was set for 6 cups. It was. I check the strength level was set to my liking, strong. Which it was. What I determined was happened is enough beans were not funneling into the grinder. So every morning, I had to push the beans around so enough to brew 6 cups would funnel into the grinder.Coffee also never brewed hot enough. Even if I didn’t add liquid creamer to my coffee, the first sip was lukewarm. So I’d have to always heat my first cup up in the microwave. Coffee plate didn’t even keep it lukewarm for long. Don’t want to do this every morning. So I’ve requested a refund. Totally do not recommend this product!!

Excelente compra
