Bosch Pro-Tap Spool, F016800175

After using this for an hour and having to retrieve it several times, an inspection of the old orange spindle compared with this showed it was thicker. This appears to stop it sitting correctly and in use undoes the black cover and the whole lot shoots off up the garden. Fun times....not.I've now unwound the line and put it in the old spindle.

I have had an easy trim for years and always had trouble with the line. Thought I’d buy this original spool replacement with 8m of line. The spool jams on the centre spigot and does not release when “tapped”. This is due to the spool a very tight fit. In the end I put the line and plastic collar on to the original spool and it works fine. Basically paid all this money for line!! Don’t buy!! Maybe a pattern part would work better. !!! A very unhappy customer

Constantly snaps at the reel. You have to disassemble to recover. I think in the many reels I have gone through over the years, I've only used the automatic spool function once.every other time it's been unplug, take apart, refeed the wire, refit, cut another few blades of grass, then repeat....

Having purchased several cheaper versions and experiencing continual spool/line feed problems etc decided to buy the genuine article. The quality ie width/strength of line and the ease of spool feed are noticeably better with the Bosch F016800175 Replacement 8 m x 1.6 mm Pro Tap Spool and although more expensive would buy again as necessary.

I keep having to sort out the supposedly automatic line feed. Either it fails to extend, gets tangled or extends too far and I use a lot of plastic line. This complaint is not limited to this particular refill, strimmer or maker, all the ones I have tried have flaws. There must be a better design out there somewhere.
