We got these boots for our 9 year old golden retriever that has osteoarthritis in his front paws. Because of his condition he has a difficult time walking on hard surfaces and gravel roads. He is still very active and loves to retrieve. The boots we very easy to put on him. Once on him he had no problem getting use to them. We went outside played some ball and he gained a whole new confidence. It was like his postured changed. We had him walk down the gravel drive which he did without hesitation. When we went inside he had no problems handling the hardwood floors. The entire time the boots stayed on his feet and in place. They must feel good on his paws because is ready to play for longer sessions than without them. I would recommend these to anyone considering boots for the pup. We followed the sizing instructions and the fit seems to be right on. We are so pleased with them we are going to measure and order a pair for his back paws. My boxer has degenerative myelopathy and we've had the best luck with these shoes in assisting with her challenges in walking caused by the disease. The grippy traction on the bottom helped in her early stages of the disease, when she started struggling to keep her feet under her on hard surfaces. The grippy bottoms and toe cover help her feet from slipping and assisted with her strides as she pushed off to take a step. I noticed with other shoes, the toe cover is material and thus slippery (causing falling) when trying to take a step off her toes. As the disease progressed, they have protected the tops of her feet from dragging (getting scuffed up) and do not fall off/get pulled off from her dragging her back feet (every other brand we have tried come off during her feet dragging). It is important to make sure the dog's paw is all the way into the shoe, toes touching the top and then fastening the velcro tight enough. If not, then of course the shoe will come off. Also, easy to throw in the washing machine when they need cleaned. They are very durable and quality made. Not to mentioned stylish! They are a little pricey, but in my opinion, the quality and longevity are completely worth it.

I was looking for something to help my elderly Wire Haired Fox Terrier. He has degenerative myelopathy and struggles on most surfaces to grip and it has been heartbreaking watching him fall and lose his balance so often. He also drags his rear paws and has worn the nails to the quick where they bleed. Rufus only weighs 8.5kgs and his paws are small. I measured according to the directions and went ahead and ordered the smallest size, 1.5in. Boots arrived and are exactly as pictured. I put them on Rufus's rear paws and cinched the velcro tight and he was fine from the get go. Rufus has grip and his hind legs are held firm on the ground, even inside on the polished wood floor. Really pleased so far and Rufus seems not to be bothered with them at all. Great purchase, well worth the money paid to see my little dog upright and not struggling to walk!
