This journal surprised me. I read the same experiences from other reviewers and had to try it out for myself. The books are beautiful inside and out. I am using one for a field journal and the other to work at home. One thing I wanted was good paper to work with, but not have to pay alot. I am on a budget so getting a 100% cotton journal wasn't an option. I have been looking for paper to paint on that isn't super expensive and finding journals that also weren't too expensive. I also wanted one that was hardcover and well bound. These also lay flat which makes it really easy to work in. I love the landscape layout for field journaling. These are great and hit all the requirements I had for a good travel journal. Excellent paper, construction and value. I highly recommend for practicing and field journaling. Also great for beginner artists, because the paper is great and absorbs the paint very well. I will buy these again.

Are these professional quality? No. But they are a GREAT value for the money, and work just fine for watercolor sketches, which is exactly what I wanted. I specifically wanted a watercolor sketchbook that was not very expensive, just so that I would not be afraid to use it - but at the same time of decent quality. I think that these are a perfect combo of price and quality. I do not worry about "wasting" pages because I did not pay alot of money for these sketchbooks. At the same time, I have already done whole spreads where the page was covered in watercolor. While the paper did of course buckle, I've not had any paint soak through pages, and I use every page front and back with no issue. If you are on the hunt for a handy little sketchbook that you don't need to worry about being too "precious" with, I think this is a perfect companion for any artist. I will be buying again when I fill mine up!I've included a few sketches I've done in mine just to show you that this paper has not problem dealing with plenty of water and paint!

These sketchbooks are absolutely amazing. Ive always used a mix media sketchbook that has decently thick paper. The company i used to but from increased their prices way too much so i decided to give a different one a try, and this is so much better than i ever would have expected. I use alcohol markers the most, and although (obviously) there is a little bit of bleeding through, its so minimal that just adding a piece of paper behind completely fixes the issue. As for watercolor, its perfect. No bleeding, the page stays together completely. Its great. I fully recommend this product. Great price for the deal you get. Perfect travel size as well and just amazing quality in general. Definitely will be buying again!

I paint pretty much daily. Be it journaling or urban sketch or quick sketch of what's in front of me, everything and anything goes into my sketch book. I mostly work in water-based media. So I always lookout for sketchbooks that are affordable and performs decent. I don't usually look for 100% cotton or most absorbent paper as my sketchbooks are for quick studies and I don't do many layers of wet-on-wet.Having said that,I have used these for past two years before writing this review. In past two years, I have filled up two square ones completely and bought 9"X12" ones. But I prefer square one. These are easy to travel with. Some of the picture of my sketchbook spreads are attached.Pros:- Decent quality. Little buckling with watercolor but I expect that from all watercolor paper. I don't use heavy amount of water on these on-the-go paintings.-Paper is absorbent enough to give you sufficient time to manipulate the watercolor.- pigment disperses evenly on the paper. I am quite happy with results I could achieve.- Sketchbook can lay flat which is helpful- paper has a texture which I really admire and enjoy. The texture is very organic and not even or pattern like as on low quality watercolor paper.- The elastic comes handy to hold the page in place while painting and also when the sketch book closed.- I like that they offer square shape. When open I have an option to use square or full spread as rectangle shape.- it’s travel friendly.Things to note:- Binding and built can be improved. It's not neat and well aligned.- I have not used frisket/masking liquid on these so I don't know how paper performs when you lift those.- I have only used this for watercolor and gouache. Dont know how it performs for other mediums.

Really love these books! But I would recommend you only use them mainly for finished painting because sketching in them can cause your drawings to be smeared or grainy looking. The paper is watercolor paper, so it is rather bumpy and thick, prefect for painting, but sketching not so much. I would suggest smoother paper for graphic (pencil) drawings. Overall: Worth the money😊💰

This two pack of watercolor pads is lovely. Nice fabric cover, good quality paper, will see how it does under the water and paint test. Paper has good texture.

The hardcover with linen is beautiful. The paper is pulp-based rather than cotton however it’s of good construction and nice to work on. A lovely sketch journal for watercolours.

Tengo varios cuadernos y papeles de acuarela. Estos han sido mis favoritos desde el primer momento. Estaba buscando algo amplio, pero no alargado, con absorción pero no necesariamente de 300 gr (ya tengo 3) pero que si pudiera usar de ambas paginas. Pasta dura para proteger mi trabajo y no demasiado caro. Con este juego lo encontré! Compre el pack de 2 y ¡estoy muy contenta! era lo que buscaba. El papel es de 230 gr, tiene una linda textura vertical, es suave, la acuarela fluye muyy bien por la hoja, el color es blanco marfil, muy lindo, no amarillento, absorbe excelente el agua. Aguanta lavados y/o varias pasadas. Los colores se ven muy bonitos y puedes usar ambas paginas. Valen mucho la pena 😉

These are nice books with a good quality paper. I am currently using one for acrylic paint grid journaling. Works well. The book opens pretty flat with a couple of pages that stuck together at the binding which just means those pages lose a small amount at the seam but for me that’s not an issue. Would definitely buy again.
