Britt-Marie Was Here: from the bestselling author of A MAN CALLED OVE

Fully deserving of 5 Stars
Fredrik Backman understands human nature and his stories reflect that simple fact. His characters are never complex nor complicated but instead each is (or becomes) truly relatable to the reader. Now I will admit that upon first meeting Britt-Marie (My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She’s Sorry) she was off-putting and it took time and effort to begin to understand her. By the end of that book, I’d warmed considerably to her and almost immediately decided she was worth further study which, of course, brings us to “Here.”This story finds Britt-Marie on a dramatically altered life path, and it’s pretty apparent she’s facing some real challenges. Where she ends up and what she does to overcome (to conquer is perhaps more accurate) those challenges will carry you on a ride in which you’ll share her frustrations, encourage her to take chances, support her decisions, and become a boisterous cheerleader for her successes.Backman provides a marvelous ensemble cast that (with perhaps an exception) you will fall in love with without hesitation. This is a sweet, sad, funny, wonderfully told story that you deserve to enjoy.Just too bad there isn’t a “10 Star” option.

Love it
It’s my third Fredrik Backman book. Same satisfaction as the previous ones. Just loved it. Now Fredrik Backman is one of favourite modern and Scandinavian writers. I hope they adapt to screen this book too.

Book Review
Alright so, I'm a bit late to the game and wanted to post this review earlier when I had read it 2 years back. But, better late than never! I might have forgotten some nuances of the novel but this book was so impactful and beautiful that I clearly remember my emotions after having read the same. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but basically this book is about an old woman trying to find her purpose in her life, in her very own quirky way. This literary piece of fiction captures human emotions so wonderfully..What else would you expect from Fredrik Backman? Do go for it, please!
