If you bake, you need this!
Impressively sturdy yet incredibly flexible. It really does stay put on the countertop while rolling out pie dough and biscuits; might not hold for a large batch of sticky bread dough, but I just rolled out and shaped 48 sticky dinner rolls on it without a hitch. It also does a great job of transferring dough to the pie pan; just roll both ends toward the middle and center it over the pan before unrolling. Sooo much nicer than the one I've been using. The markings are accurate and useful, just don't forget to add diameter for pie crusts--a 9-inch pan needs a dough circle of about 11-1/2 inches. Also, use a metal bench knife very carefully as a corner could cut the silicon. I've repurposed a plastic scraper with great results. The smaller size-- "Large" -- is perfect for biscuits and other small jobs or maybe for restricted space. Otherwise, I recommend the new "Extra Large"he size. There's plenty of room for extra flour, etc. so it doesn't get on the counter top. That cuts clean-up considerably, something I really appreciate. Cleaning the mat itself is super easy, just rinse the under the sink sprayer and air dry. In all, this mat is the best I've used. I'm completely delighted with both sizes and very impressed with customer care. If you bake, you need this!Addendum on Nov. 9, 2016: Still fabulous after baking with these mats for almost a year! I used the smaller sized mat for smaller batches: biscuits, scones, etc. and the larger size for pies, pizza crusts, pasta dough, etc. They look brand new--pristine, in fact, despite use several times per week. They remain flexible, sturdy, and stationary! These workhorses belong in every kitchen. All my family will be receiving them this year!
