Nitram 700300 Charcoal

The whole line of Nitram is some of the best charcoal to work with as an artist. I was hesitant to get the Nitram at first knowing only what I'd worked with in the past regarding Willow sticks. All of the Nitram charcoal sticks, shall I say, are steps above anything on the market. Easy to put down and challenge one's self to create the feel of a charcoal rendering. I've become to believe they have helped in my creative and technical processes to become a better artist.

Charcoal is a difficult medium! The high quality of this charcoal certainly enhanced my beginning efforts. It is easier to sharpen and hold, which improves line quality.

I have been using this charcoal for many years and it is a great product. However, they have downgraded the packaging from a bubble wrap type of material to tissue and it always arrives broken. (See photo) Sometimes it is not badly broken and I can salvage most of it but not always. This time it arrived in many little pieces and I had to return. I will not reorder.
