Le CreusetEnameled Cast Iron Signature Round Dutch Oven, 5.5 qt., Oyster

I struggled with selecting the right size of pot. I found sizes on the Le Creuset website and they turned out to be accurate. If you have joint problems, you may find the pot to be heavy.For years I've used a good quality stainless steel pot (Kuhn Rikon) but this is better and requires very little heat to keep it bubbling away. Easy to clean.

The handle is not as same as the pictures show on the amazon website. The handle I got is made of plastic but the one in the picture is a metal one.

I was looking for a Le Creuset for a while and out of no where, this bad boy was put on sale (5 1/2 signature round in Oyster, so a metal knob versus plastic). Now, $254 is by no means "affordable" versus a Lodge/KitchenAid/etc that produce enamel dutch ovens, but so far its been worth every penny. Braises, baked breads, sauces, jambalaya, soups, even pho, the Le Creuset handles with grace and ease. I plan on using this until I'm put in the ground (or floating in space, let's be real) and if my future kids/grandkids/etc don't use it, I'm going to come back and scare them into using it (basically a genie of the dutch oven, but ghostly).I've seen a few people note that their products came chipped and have rated it a 1 star. Definitely not the product's fault, so take those with a grain of salt.

Like all Le Creuset items, this Dutch Oven lives up to its reputation. Very easy to clean, can be used on stovetop or in the oven, and it looks great. This is a new color and it is a winner. The initial cost may be a bit up there, but these Le Creuset items last forever. Take care of them and you can hand them down in the family. You don't throw these away, you just find more reason to use them.

Stovetop to oven with many dishes in the first few months. It is great. It also cleans with soap and water and no hard abrasives. So far, we are very, very pleased with this Dutch Oven.
