Works great in a 1980's Shaefer Student pen
I recently came in to possession of a 1980's Shaefer Student fountain pen. Internet research told me that new cartridges for Shaefer Student pens just can't be had. I don't like cartridges anyway, so I looked for a converter. It seems you can't get a Shaefer converter to fit the pen, either. But more research led me to buy this converter for the pen. This converter works fine. It is a very tight fit onto the feed. Scary tight, but it fit. There's plenty of room in the barrel. The capacity (the converter's length) could be a little greater, but then it wasn't made to be used the way I'm using it. One more point, a general one: This converter uses a simple plunger; it's basically just a syringe. It works great.

Solid little converter
I normally don't write reviews, but I'm going to this time for two reasons. The first is because there are a couple of different options for cartridge converters for Kaweco Sport pens, and I want to help people decide if they're trying to decide. The second reason is, the USPS lost the package containing the first converter I ordered, and the seller was very good about replacing it at no charge to me, and I really appreciate that they did that, so I want people to know that the seller is good. As for the converter itself, it's a very tiny little piston converter. You don't turn a screw or anything, you just pull up on a tiny, knurled knob to draw ink up into the pen. That being said, in order to have room for the piston mechanism in such a small pen, you sacrifice about half of the capacity that you'd have with a cartridge. Your other option is a squeeze-type converter. The squeeze converter probably has about twice the total capacity in theory, but it's harder to get it to fill all the way, and it can be a little bit messy and frustrating getting the hang of it. The piston, on the other hand, is much easier. Since I generally only use my pen for writing short notes and so forth, the piston made a lot more sense to me. If you intend to write for longer, and are prepared for a slightly more difficult experience, the squeeze converter might be better for you.

Works great! a little small
I ordered the Kaweco brass fountain pen. The pen is fantastic and this converter works great. My only criticism is that is seems a little small and after a couple weeks of use, I have had to refill the cartridge. Although, I can't complain too much as it does hold a decent amount of ink.

Fits my Sheaffer Targa Slim
I just got a vintage Sheaffer Targa Slim fountain pen. It didn’t come with a converter (I got it in a consignment store). Since it is no longer in production, it’s hard to find the converters for it (except on auction sites, where they are pricey.) I had read that this would work, so I thought I’d give it a try. It’s a perfect fit! Plus, it was relatively inexpensive. It connects well with the nib section & draws up ink easily. It doesn’t hold as much ink as some other converters, but it’s called the MINI for a reason. If you are buying one, you need to be realistic about that. That said, I much prefer it over cartridges.

Perfect fit for using bottled ink with my Moleskine x Kaweco pen
I picked this up for my Moleskine x Kaweco fountain pen, which only came with disposable ink cartridges. I’m picky about what ink I use, and I wanted to fill it with Monteblanc black. This mini piston converter fits perfectly—no looseness, no leaking, no hassle. Installation was easy: just pop it in where the cartridge would go and twist the piston to draw up your ink. It holds enough ink for regular writing, and I haven’t had any issues with it drying out or skipping. The converter feels well-made and seats securely in the barrel. For such a tiny component, it makes a huge difference in how customizable the pen becomes. If you’ve got a Kaweco Sport and want to use your own ink instead of being stuck with cartridges, this is the add-on you need. Just double-check that your specific pen supports it—this one was a perfect match for mine.

Nice fountain pen ink converter.
I got a new fountain pen at a local festival. It came with a prefilled cartridge that was shorter than my usual ink converters. So I was very happy to find this ink converter. The quality of the build is really nice. I don't like to worry about my pen having leaks or breaking the converter one day from regular use. I don't think I will run into those issues with this converter as it seems to be really well built.

Won't stay inserted in feed
Recently got a Koweco sport so naturally thought it would be right to get a converter so I could use nice inks. I've been using this converter for about a week and almost every time I would take it out of my pocket I'd hear it rattle, open it up and see this converter is no longer connected to the feed. Looking online I've seen that is a consistent issue. The build quality is nice, I appreciate that it has branding on the side, chrome accents and can be taken apart completely to clean and service. I don't mind the smaller ink capacity trade off for convenience. It's just, if it doesn't stay connected to the feed right out of the box, all these things don't really matter. And if I have to leave it at home that defeats the purpose of having a pocket pen. I've seen that there are workarounds to get it to stay in place, but that shouldn't be something you need to do with a brand specific accessory that's half the retail price of the main course part of the product you've just invested in. I wouldn't get another one of these at this price. I would just reuse a cartridge till it wore out and get more cartridges to refill what I need 'em.

Small, Sucks in the ink. Very easy to install and use.. Fantastically well above average.. Even better than new. Loving the shoe. I carry a few small refills as well, just in case the ink runs out though.

A useful addition to the Kaweco pen to allow your own choice of ink rather than just cartridges. The Reservoir volume is on the small side, but it works well.
