I've had three camp pillows prior to this one (Sea to Summit, Nemo, Exped) and this is literally the only one that works for side sleeping. It's tall and has a perfect shape to fill in the space between your shoulders and your head, when laying on your side. Thank god bc I was starting to think that I'd NEVER be able to sleep comfortably on the trail. Glad to be proven wrong, and def going to buy like 5 of these just in case this company disappears! The thought of going back to any other pillow is a nightmare.

Not functional

This is one of the best pillows I've found for backpacking. It's very light and incredibly compact when folded up. Just might buy one or two more to use in the car for long road trips.

I bought two of these pillows, just in different colors and the first thing I noticed is that the material is paper thin. Practically as thick as a zip lock bag. I couldn't trust that it wouldn't pop under the incredible weight of my massive head so I sent it back and bought much higher quality pillows from Cabela's.

I've only reviewed a product on Amazon 3 times. That said, this pillow has served me well on both my Appalachian Trail and Arizona Trail thru hikes. That's 3,000. As a side sleeper, this was the only pillow I could find that has the height that allows me to sleep somewhat comfortably on the trail. Is it super comfortable? It's a backpacking pillow, but it's good enough. And it is certainly bombproof. The only reason I'm replacing it is because, after all that use, I can only imagine the kind of funk that has accumulated on the inside from inflating it so many times. Otherwise, like the Energizer Bunny, this thing will keep on going. One suggestion: swap out the valve for ones that accommodate one-way inflation so you don't have to keep your tongue on the thing to keep air from blowing out. Otherwise, from my perspective, this pillow is as good as it gets for a fraction of the price of some of the big gear company pillows.One other thing, in the photo, I've used my buff to go around the the pillow. This way, I can keep the pillow kind of clean and then just throw the buff in the wash. During the day the buff is around my neck.

I have trouble finding firm pillows when I travel. This does the trick. It’s easy to pack and can be set to whatever firmness I like. And, most importantly it is thick enough that I can sleep with my neck straigfht.
