It works!
I got this for my dad for Fathers Day and he was thrilled by it, being a big watermelon fan. It works exactly as shown in the company's demonstration video. Speaking of which, the video (the 1st result if you Google Melon Ninja) may be essential viewing for some since there were no instructions in the box. I had been unknowingly holding the thing upside-down before I saw the video and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working.My dad is an impatient guy, so he had to get used to carefully scooping down all the way to the bottom of the watermelon and made some wonky-looking pieces at first, but he got the hang of it after a couple minutes. We both think it's pretty easy to use and definitely better than using a knife. He finished cutting up the watermelon in about 10 minutes and would've finished much faster if he knew what he was doing from the start.Good: Easy to use; works perfectly after you figure out how to use it properly; quicker, safer and less messy than using a knife.Needs work: Could use instructions in the box. This wasn't a major problem for me.

okay but not great.
I was excited about getting this, however, it did not really meet my expectations. It did an okay job cutting through watermelon, but didn't cut as well as advertised. The "cutter" wire is not sharp enough. When I went to pull out the piece from the watermelon, it was not actually cut all the way through so I had to run the device through the watermelon a second time. When I tried to use it to cut honeydew melon, it didn't cut at all. The melon was ripe and therefore, according to the advertisement it should have done so with ease. I wouldn't recommend this tool.

I love this, it's AMAZING! !
Wow this is by far 1 of the best things I've ever bought! It's amazing, I usually make a big mess cutting up a watermelon but this made it so easy! ! It slices the melon up very nice, it's very easy to use, I just can't say enough about it! ! I did get this for free/discounted price for my honest opinion, but let me just tell you, I would gladly pay full price for this. I HIGHLY recommend this product. I had a whole watermelon cut up nicely in less that 3 minutes! ! You won't be sorry if you order this! !

Not quite as good as the video
I have not used this yet on watermelon, but tried it on a honeydew. I made sure I followed the directions.It did carve through the flesh fairly well. I did struggle some and this wasn't as easy as the video makes it look.I am still giving 4 stars because I feel this will be much better with a watermelon that has a very defined outer shell. This was much harder on the honeydew.At any rate, this was 100% easier and less messy that the old way to cut up the melons. That alone makes it worth the low price.

I'm not a very handy person. Although this tool looks simple enough to use I still thought I would have difficulty using it like, "As seen on TV'.From the very first swipe it became apparent that this tool IS just that easy. I even got a little creative half-way through and varied the size of the slices. Now it's time to buy one for my daughter-in-law and one for my neighbor. To those inventive types, keep those inventions coming.

Sturdy, High-Quality Melon Slicer
This is a very high-quality melon slicer. I was hesitant to purchase one after reading several reviews about flimsy materials being used, but decided that I would give this one a try based on its reviews. I really was surprised to find that it went through the watermelon easily, and worked exactly as depicted in the video. It definitely has the weight and feel I was looking for, so I highly recommend this particular seller.

It really works!!!
This really works! No tricks, unlike the things we see and must have only to find we can't make them work like the demonstrator. This came right on time and I had a watermelon at the ready. Follow the directions and you have nicely sliced melon. It does take a little strength to get started and I would practice on a smaller melon than the giant thing I had. Friends will be getting these in their Christmas stockings.

Slices Easily and Leaves You with an Awesome Fruit Bowl. Easy to Use.
This eliminates cutting through the rind for each slice which is kinda dangerous. You just cut the watermelon in half, slice it with the Ninja, and then pull out the slices. You are left with an awesome fruit bowl, if you want to use it as that. It is much quicker too.
