iFi ZEN DAC Signature - HiFi Desktop Digital Analog Converter With USB3.0 B Input/Outputs 4.4mm Balanced/RCA

I originally went with a CA DACMagic but it arrived with some issues, sent it back and ordered one of these instead.I'm really impressed with this little device, it does a fantastic job interfacing between my macbook and desk speakers and sounds awesome. I leave it in 'fixed' mode as it's connected straight to an amp that does the volume control but the knob feels great and has a nice resistance when you turn it.Overall build quality is very high, feels solid and has a heft to it. Can be powered over USB or with the included power brick which is v. handy.Only thing I would have liked to see would have been an alternative input (optical in) for use with a TV for ex. However, i bought it for use with a laptop and it works great over USB.Comes with a USB A to USB B and a pair of RCA leads, both of these are very short so you'll want the DAC close to your source and output or also grab some longer cables.Overall, 5/5. Awesome product, very happy.

Very surprised at the quality of this DAC for the money. Build quality is absolutely rock solid and feels very dense and robust. Sound quality is astounding, I’m using this with my PC, and I already have an expensive sound card in my PC and I thought it sounded amazing. This DAC surpasses that and the sound is very neutral, balanced and wide ranging. Some concerns I do have, I find the support documentation lacklustre and not clear at times. The cables that are included are far too short (for my usage anyway) and the colours of cables included leave little to be desired and make it difficult to hide it away in your setup. All in all though, I’d recommend this any day of the week.

Fantastic sound quality for the price. Worked straight out of the box . I use it with Tidal for MQA rendering and it sounds fantastic.

The DAC is very easy to connect.The sound quality is tremendous especially MQA files.Would definitely recommend this product

I borrowed a V1 iFi Signature DAC for a few weeks whilst waiting for the V2 to arrive. There is a noticeable difference in the overall quality between v1 and v2 as it can now ‘unfold’ to the full MQA standard.Many tracks on Apple Music are now available to a HiRes and Apple digital master quality and the correct lights come on the iFi now indicating full MQA master level. You can hear things that you never knew were there before with tremendous stereo separation.This little box front ends about £3k of stereo amp, speakers and two subs. It holds its own at such a level. However, if you don’t have a top hifi system like this the cheaper iFi DAC v2 is nearly as good (about 80%) for about half the price and has a headphone socket too. I wanted the best MQA quality so went with the Signature v2.Be aware that the basic DAC needs a £50 power supply. The Signature comes with one.
