Fantastic side handle! It’s solidly built with high-quality aluminum, giving my camera setup a much sturdier and more professional feel. The grip is very comfortable, even during long shoots, and it makes handheld filming so much smoother and more stable. Easy to attach, very secure, and lightweight without sacrificing strength. Another excellent accessory from SmallRig—highly recommend for anyone looking to upgrade their rig!

I’m a fan of the Smallrig stuff. I was on the fence before, but I recently purchased a few hundred dollars worth of stuff. This is one of the handles I’m returning. For my hands it felt good, pricing was good, overall length 4 1/4”, the width is. 1/7/8”. It sort of felt like holding a shovel, though it was rectangular shaped with nice curved edges. I prefer the wood look, but if you like the polished metal look then this could be a winner. How it feels in your hand is very subjective, when your mincing nuances. On a scale of 1-10 I thought it felt like a 8.5? Again pure subjectiveness and opinion. In the end your probably only getting 1 (pair) handle so it’s not a shoe purchase for different occasions. I’m using a Panasonic GH5, that I was kitting out and the option to turn this into a hybrid photo camera. Videos/photos 80/20. I have a photo of my orange glove hand, the gloves are from Home Depot size large for reference. Here are my thoughts about the product. I don’t own the product just ordered it stuck it on the camera and spent 5 minutes with it on the camera. Build quality: nice build quality excellent, nato rail very convenient, non slip padding good, Ergonomics: large, nato convenient, for stripping the handle to stuff into a small camera bag. large rectangular, rounded edge 3/8”? profile front and back is nicely curved. Who is this for: large hands, heavier weight cameras which you need the extra length to hold it or grip it. It would be a good choice if you want to grasp the rig with one handle will accept a wrist strap. Overall thoughts Once you get a heavier camera (gh5 or any dslr) with a heavier lens and do-dads then it’s more cumbersome to hold securely so gripping the handle instead of a light touch is my preferred method. Anyone that has a large hand/large or modestly heavy camera rig or cinema rig. Smaller hands and lighter setups might prefer a smaller handle. I like the wood handles purely on an aesthetic level.
