Q: Which gel stain can be used on exterior surfaces?

The Varathane gel stains can. Others marked exterior use can. Yes, it's meant for that and other uses. The gel formula means it works on vertical surfaces better without dripping. I bought V Red Mahogany and the Cabernet color they recommended when I asked for more of a red, and used Cabernet which looks great. You need to seal it with their Varathane Spar Urethane water based (or oil based but water is easier and doesn't yellow). Try the colors 1st. I found Mahogany's are all different, even red Mahogany. Some are black.

Q: I would like to restain a partially faded exterior door. Will this gel stain look even or will the faded areas look lighter after staining?

We did the same to our exterior door. 1 quart was enough to put on two coats to get even coverage. Don't forget the sealer as it is an exterior surface.

Q: Would this work on a vinyl cover for an outdoor spa? Does it hold up under flexing and miosture?

Vinyl spa cover will flex too much for this. Try using a specialty vinyl paint instead.

Q: Will this oil-based stain cause significant warping vs water-based? Staining boards with a high propensity to warp.

Yes it did before we pulled it I dropped s glass of water and it warped instantly
