This is probably around 2 stars as a pot holder. First off, mine are moderately thick - so I haven't been burned when moving or adjusting a pan in the oven. The issue with that is that is that it's not very malleable. I had a bit of trouble manipulating this to go into the shape I wanted with my smaller hands, something I don't have as an issue with my cloth covered pot holders.There is a hole that I use to hang on the side of my oven & my rotisserie oven with a hook magnet. That is very handy because I have potholders right there, not tucked in a drawer. Personally, I still feel heat through silicone (I have silicone handles on my iron skillets). It's better than actual skin contact with said item, but it does not prevent you feeling the warmth or even burn if said object is hot enough. It's lack of malleability was my major complaint. I have not burned myself yet because of the hole - but it does mean you need to grab with some awareness.As a trivet, it's more like 3.5 stars. It has ridges & bumps in it that allow air to move underneath - it's still a fairly thin object meaning it doesn't take up space like some trivets can, so I found it useful in that department. I also used them as spare cookie racks when I ran out of room on mine and it worked decently enough for that aspect, too.If you need trivets - this could be handy and affordable way to get numerous ones. If you need potholders, I'd say this is a matter of personal preference, heat sensitivity and possibly size of hands. Not a total loss - but not my favorite either. They do still work for all intents & purposes.

This product works very well as a pot holder/trivet (I have not tried using it to open jars). They are thin yet effective in preventing the heat of pans from transferring to your hands, even removing things from a very hot oven. The texture also helps grips things. I'd say the size is standard, a bit on the small side if anything. The only thing that did not quite live up to expectations was the packing it came in, just the four pot holders in a clear, unmarked plastic bag (inside an Amazon box with other products). There were no labels whatsoever. All in all, though, a great product, my mother was very pleased with them, and we love the cute colors.

A lot more hygienic than my old cloth potholders. Fun colors, too. Took off one star because they are too floppy for using to take things out of the oven. I just use my mits for that and use these to protect my table and counter.

I bought these for my mom for Mother's Day. The colors are super bright and she loves them. They're perfect for getting hot dishes from stove and they're not slippery. Good purchase.
