Biblical Preaching: The Development and Delivery of Expository Messages

My pastor at the Independent Fundamentalist Baptist church I attend knows that I was called to be a pastor/minister someday and he recommended this book and he let me barrow his copy for study.So I decided to purchase a copy for myself and for anyone who wants to preach God’s word I highly recommend this for your library.

What a great book that lays the foundation and builds upon it the tools necessary to become an effective and better speaker/preacher in a manner that is very understandable!

I absolutely loved this book. Anyone aspiring to become a minister, pastor, etc. would definitely benefit from this book. If you don’t have a pastoral mentor to help you with sermon development this is definitely a great resource. The book provides great details to develop an expository message. Not sure what expository means…you will definitely understand the concept. Terminologies are very precise and explanations are clear and descriptive. The book has practice activities at the end of most chapter so you can apply the concepts in each chapter. This is by far a book that should be a recommendation for every aspiring pastor. I would definitely recommend this book as an addition to your pastoral study. Also the book is very well made. I have read this book religiously and highlighted throughout the book, and it has held up. It doesn’t even looked used.

As a preacher I found Robinson’s book full of helpful advice to sharpen my task. Highly recommend. Enjoyable read and easy to navigate.

This book is very practical, simple and entertaining to read. It's a great read for anyone who wants to improve their preaching. It can also be beneficial for use as a textbook as it also includes student exercises.

I bought this book for my dad who is a Pastor. He really liked the layout and helpful information on writing sermons.

Everything Haddon Robinson writes is wonderful. He taught men the best way to preach. He was a great teacher and preacher of God’s Word.

This book caused me to take a good hard look at the why of the what. It has changed my approach to sermon preparation and I look forward to reading it again and again.

I have long used and recommended the first edition. This third edition is thoroughly revised and updated and is so much better to use.

The book gives some easy steps in helping one learn how to preach. What one must remember though in the whole process is that the Holy Spirit guides the preacher through the study.

Awesome. (period)Just by reading the first paragraphs you can tell that Haddon W. Robinson has a gift for communication. I've learned a lot in this book and I have applied a lot. I can tell the difference in the eyes of my attendance. I got a lot better at getting their attention and getting them to remember what I wanted to communicate.Are you preaching? Read it. This is the book you need.
