Makes my old machine like new
I recently bought a beautiful 1950s vintage Japanese made machine that came in a wood cabinet with a knee pedal. The way the knee pedal was installed made it difficult to use. The old wiring was in good shape, but I didn't want to mess with it to try to wire in a new foot pedal. This replacement unit works great. I can control the sewing speed as well as I can on my new Brother machine. The only thing it lacks is a way to mount the plug part into my cabinet. The old unit had a hole for a screw, but this ine doesn't. I used a command strip and installed two small "L" brackets for it to sit on, which keeps it from falling when I unplug the machine or move the foot pedal. Even if you have a foot pedal for your older machine, I recommend getting a newer one like this for safety reasons, and because the way the newer pedals work is easier on the motors. Great price too.

Works well
My vintage White 764 had a short that necessitated replacement of the plug to the motor as well as the foot/speed pedal. Based upon other reviews, I was a little concerned that this would feel flimsy, but to the contrary, I felt reasonably good with its overall quality. Perhaps my expectations were so low that anything could be better than what I had envisioned (lol!). At any rate, it is working well with my machine and I like it better than the old metal pedal because I have better speed control. I purchased the plastic replacement rather than the metal one because reviews of the metal pedal indicated that speed wasn’t regulated. The plastic pedal does allow for speed control. I am not a speedy sewist so I was satisfied with how fast it allowed the sewing to go.

Works perfectly. Safe. Much smoother than the old one.
It's almost like turning my 1927 Singer 66 into a new machine. Between this and the updated motor, I can leave it plugged in and not worry that my house is going to burn down from that old cracked and fraying cord while I'm in the other room. I wouldn't leave it plugged in unattended before. If you have an old machine with a questionable cord, don't hesitate. Just get the new pedal and cord. I didn't realize how stressed I had been about it until I got the new one and no longer had to remember whether I had unplugged it before I left the room. I had an antique lamp that started a house fire, so I know how fast it gets out of control. Worth every penny, many times over, to know the wiring is sound. Plus, the pedal is so much nicer to use, and it doesn't catch, grind or squeak like the old one. Some things are better old, like sewing machines. Some things shouldn't be used that old, like electrical wiring.

Perfect replacement for my vintage Zigzag Wards Machine
I read a review about this working on a 70’s Wards sewing machine and I have a really old zigzag Wards machine so I had to try this. My machine was put in a cabinet with a knee pedal and it was just getting too hard for me to push so it was time for a change. This was easy to install and works perfectly. We did drill out for the screw hole. I just received it so I’m not sure how it will hold up but it seems to work really well so far and has a lot more speed than my old one

Worked perfectly
This was the perfect update for my older sewing machine. The electronic foot pedal gave a much needed boost to my 75 year old electric sewing machine. Instead of just growling at me ,it spring to new life with the slightest touch of the pedal. Sews better than the newer machines made today.

Variable speed option for vintage machines
This was an easy Plug N Play option to replace the vintaged foot pedal that came with my Sewmor 900 sewing machine. The vintage pedal had no speed control - I could sew FAST or not sew. This certainly provides me with a range of speeds, but the full speed is about half as fast as the machine sewed with the original pedal. That's ok, as I am not a speed sewer. I was happy that it was as simple as unscrewing the old box from the case , screwing in the new, and plugging in the machine, however I did feel that both the pedal and the box felt very lightweight and flimsy. I'm not sure what the longevity will be.

Easy to install and a great replacement for a mechanical pedal
Update: it is October of 2024, I pulled out the Pfaff 130 and the foot control no longer works. Upon plugging in, the machine goes full speed. Opened the foot pedal and the slider control inside moves as it should but has no effect - the machine still runs full speed. Ordering another and hoping for more than 2 years of life next time. For my machine, this seems the best option relative to reviews. This was purchased for my moms 1940’s vintage Pfaff 130 machine that had a replacement mechanical rheostat that had operated like an on/off switch! This was easily installed in the Pfaff 130 wood case base. I did have to drill out the center outlet screw hole so I could secure the outlet to the bottom of the wood case as was done for the previous outlet box. This fits well and it’s comforting to have variable speed again on the motor. It is great to have a historical family sewing machine like this working well again.
