Great Kit!!!
Bought this kit to refinish an old rifle my father gave me before he passed away. The rifle had been kept in the barn to shoot raccoons for years and was in very rough shape. I’m posting before and after photos along with my review. I couldn’t be happier wit the results!!!

Restore an old gun like a professional
This is a great little starter kit. I bought it to restore an old Remington over/under .22/410 gauge that had spent years sitting in a storage shed and was completely rusted over. It was in such bad shape that I eventually gave up with the steel wool and went with a round wire brush on my drill gun.The cleaner helps break loose grime and rust -- just make sure to use a wet cloth afterwards to remove any leftover cleaner, then drying completely before applying the blue. It'll take several applications of the blue to get your metal factory-level dark, so patience is a virtue. I think I applied the blue about a dozen times, using very fine steel wool in between to smooth the coloring. The stock cleaner and stain works very well also, but I would recommend getting some polyurethane to seal it when you're finished. The kit comes with I believe 3 swabs, and you're definitely going to need more than that, so go ahead and buy more. You'll also need fine and coarse grit steel wool. The kit comes with 1 or 2 protectant swabs which protect the metal from rusting, but I recommend buying this: Sentry Solutions Marine TUF-CLOTH Rust Inhibitor, 12 x 12-Inch  because it lasts forever instead of a single application.

Worked Perfect.
This set should cover most of your gun finishing needs. I would recommend maybe watching some YouTube Videos and read the directions carefully to make sure you get the results you are looking for. At the time I purchased them on here they were priced much better than I could get them in the store or anywhere else online for that matter. Would definitely recommend. If you found my Review helpful please let me and amazon know by clicking the appropriate button below, thank you and have a great day!!!

Everything you need for a parts kit build!
I would recommend that they should include one sheet each of the 3 suggested sandpaper grades and include 5 instead of just 2 swabbers. Other than that, this kit was everything i needed to refinish a AK parts kit that i finished building. Hobbyist or professional, this set is worth every penny! Oh, and make sure to get steel wool for best results during surface prep / old bluing removal.

Does a good job...not enough bluing
Ok so I gave this 4 stars only because I ran out of bluing to finish my project. Itʻs a GOOD DECENT product, so good as a matter of fact that I bought a second kit, as well as an extra bottle of "Super Blue" along with it. My only complaint is that I ran out of bluing. With that being said...Iʻd recommend it to anyone looking to re-blue their gun. Just be sure to buy another container of Super Blue. I think that works better than the Perma Blue they send in the package.I used this kit to re-blue a Mosin Nagant rifle. The blue and rust remover worked incredibly well. Degreaser was ok...I used brake cleaner and then wiped it all down with the degreaser, so I only used just a little bit. The tru oil was good too. I didnʻt use the stain at all, but I will on my next project gun. And I didnʻt use the wood conditioner either. Instead I sanded the old finish off my gun, then used about 6 coats of the tru oil, and finished that off with about 6-8 coats of wood wax. That worked out well.It was actually easier than I expected. Just take your time, and be ready for the smell! Make sure you do this in a well ventilated area. I did it in my garage, with the door open. If youʻve been thinking about re-bluing your gun...go ahead and buy this kit and do it. This kit makes it easy.

Wood finishing was Awesome.
I loved the wood finishing kit. I bought paint stripper at a hardware store. The existing finish was a mess. The new, deeper finish is very nice.I never used the cold-bluing kit. My entire rifle could use it but I heard too many mixed reviews on cold bluing, in general to chance doing the whole thing. So I cant comment on that

Results are up to you, but Birchwood Casey makes a great set of products
I'm a fairly handy guy, and just sort of fell into restoring various guns for friends and family. I've always used Birchwood Casey products because at the end of the day, they work great. The results are not solely the job of the products you use - time, effort, attention to detail and carefully following the instructions and tips in the booklet are as if not more important than the product. But, and this is a big one - the products ARE great and lead to great results if you take your time.

Disappointed
First impression was great, I get nice bluish finish on my P08 made 1908 (112 yo). After I done all required steps with removing old finish, polishing, degreasing and so on I was pretty happy with the result, but few months later all metal parts finish became gray withugly unusual spots all over the gun. Huge disappointment for me :(

Goes a long way
This is a great kit and for the price you can do multiple guns with this one pack. Firstly follow the directions. And when they say its all in the prep work it really is. The more and better prep work the better the result. I am super happy with the stock I didnt use the stock sheen and conditioner but the tru oil and walnut stain where great. My stock looks brand new again. As for the cold blue. The only reason I gave 4 star instead of 5 is that I did alot of prep work and I followed the directions to the letter and it turned out great and just as dark as original. But I wanted it darker. Almost black and although they say keep reapplying until to reach the color you want I put 8 coats of the perma blue and it never got as dark as I wanted. Again it turned out good as original just not as dark as i wanted. So the next gun I will do I am going to use this kit again but with the super blue which claims to get darker. I would definitly recommend this product it was alot of fun working on this project and I can wait to go test what now looks like a new gun.

Great package
Made the whole process of refinishing a couple of old cooeys super easy and the results were great. To get a good blue on metal, prep is everything!! When you think you've done enough, do more. Same thing with applying the blue. People that say it turned out bad either didn't prep enough or didn't put enough coats on.

Works great
Very happy with the results! I only wish I took the time to take photos prior to starting the job. End results are amazing. Prior to refinishing and bluing the old 20 GA looked like a relic from the war of 1812. Rusted and beat up. After following the instructions carefully and watching some great videos on You Tube I couldn't be more please with the results. Great product/kit and I would highly recommend it if you have an old firearm that looks rough. Not to bad for an old 1941 chicken gun.

Is a good product.
Products all worked well except that after applying the gun blue that rust appeared after it dried. I had to remove that after with some gun oil but other than that all products were good.
