RothcoGen Iii Silk Weight Bottoms

Not too hot and thick enough to keep the warmth in
I've read a lot of mixed reviews regarding these Rothco bottoms so I was prepared for the good and the bad. By chance it happened to drop to 17° F the week they arrived so I had a chance to wear them early in the morning at 5:30 a.m. and sit in a freezing car while it warmed up. My legs were nice and toasty underneath my khakis. I have sciatica from a car accident in my twenties so my right leg is a little stronger than my left leg and that makes me get a chill really easily. These bottoms kept the chill away just fine. As for the Rothco thermal tops they leave a lot to be desired I do not like them but these bottoms are perfect. I bought two pair and I will probably end up buying two more for these Colorado Winters. To be honest I recommend the Under Armour gen 3 stage 1 long sleeve coupled with the ecwcs stage 2 waffle top along with these Rothco bottoms underneath all of your clothes and you probably won't even need a coat when leaving the house.

Do not buy this item. Poor quality and not accurately sized.
These fit nothing like a similar style from the same company I was issued in Iraq. They appear to be genuine, but the seat of them is massive. The legs are over sized but the length is much shorter than I expected. I made the mistake of washing them before trying them on. So I’ll eat the cost of these and cut them into small pieces for cleaning glass. So disappointed in the overall fit and quality.

L1 ECWCS Base Layer
I bought this along with the TOP they offer as a "next to skin" base layer in the colder months. This is a great base layer to wear that you want next to your skin. But you want some room to move without the material compressing. It should be a comfortably forming fit. There is a noticeable difference when I have this top and the bottoms on under my clothing. Silky texture that allows whatever clothes your wearing to glide over. And the polyestor does a good job at holding in your body heat, but also wicking away moisture if you become to active and start to persperate. I am happy with the purchase. Pair these bottoms with the TOP, then explore the Level 2 ECWCS mid weight top and bottoms as your second layering system.

exactly correct
this is just what it's supposed to be! base layer for cold weather.if it's in the 20s and 30s this'll be good.if it's colder I'll use these with my older style brown thermals over them.very good item in my opinion.you don't get sweaty using these indoors but you'll be warm!

extra tight/small waistbands
the waistbands are low quality garbage. it's a medium but in reality, they make the waistebands an xsmall so it digs into your side and strangulates your body. the rubbers have no give at all. i would think for the price, they know how to measure. the length of the legs and everything else are perfect. the defects are the extra extra small/tight waistbands. both the level 1 AND level 2 bottoms have the exact same issue.

Not like my green ones :(
I ordered these because I likes the forest green ones I got so much and had gotten a sand colored top. These are tighter than the green ones. I feel like if I lost 10 pounds they would fit like the green ones. They are the same soft, silky material as the green ones- just cut smaller ( I am a 6 ft female wearing a mens' large). I only gave them 3 stars because of the fit. I have also purchased these same bottoms in black. Not only are they tighter than the sand-colored ones, the material is not quite the same- it is not as stretchy AND run small. The material is already getting runs in it, prob'ly because they are tight. I love my green ones tho'! They are perfect in every way.

Fits well and makes a great base layer
Bought this to wear under my dress pants for work in the winter. These plus suit pants are a little warmer than just jeans. Most base layers work great while I'm outside, but get too hot while I'm inside. These obviously aren't as warm as the heavier ones, but take the edge off if I'm only going to be outside for a few minutes in dress pants or khakis. And I can be inside for hours and not get sweaty butt. An issue I've had with warmer thermals.I'd highly recommend them to anyone who wears khakis/dress pants in colder climates.
