Great fishing rod for the price. You can’t beat it. Not only do you get a good fishing pole but it also comes with a couple of sinkers and hooks to get you going. It’s very durable and can easily come apart for storage on my boat.

Ugly stick has always been a quality affordable rod and reel. Only thing I changed was the line because I wanted the line I know works for me. I just have fun fishing and have caught catfish, bass, bluegill, and nice trout with this pole. I like how it comes apart and is easy to put away. Very smooth and not grabby at all after changing line. I only bought this one because unfortunately this year the same pole/reel brand I had that was pretty much identical just 17 years old finally fell apart. So this one I am thinking it should last a while too. I highly recommend because I cannot say anything bad about the pole or reel by this brand. Just the fun factor alone you can't beat that. Get one, have fun, and catch fish.

Good rod, bought for catfishing, but im not crazy about the collapsible feature. Feels like this could be a weak spot for a potential failure. This would be better with a solid shaft.

Great rod to start a fishing hobby, easy to put together. Took my 11yr old son on his first fishing trip for Father’s Day, he hauled in a 5-pounder with this rod! Works great! My only complaint is the string — it doesn’t seem to be spun on there properly and after a few casts the line was tangling and unspooling from both ends. Thankfully I was able to pull off enough line until I found the tangle, Then reeled it back on using a little tension, but a better line wouldn’t do that.

I’ve owned Ugly Stiks since I was a little boy and they still hold up great today, and this combo is no different. The rod feels strong but still sensitive enough to know what’s going on at the bait, and it’s a solid setup for anyone wanting a reliable all-around fishing combo. The included saltwater tackle is a nice bonus too. My only real complaint is the line that comes pre-spooled on the reel. Like most factory line that’s been sitting on a spool for a long time, it has way too much memory and it just doesn’t fish smooth. First thing I do every time is swap the line out and then it’s good to go.

I'm a pretty awful fisherman, but my daughter has wanted to go, so I got her this rod. It's been a great rod so far, and we use it at the nearby lake without any issues. It's light enough that my nine-year-old (who is small for her age) has had zero problems with the weight or size. And she loves the color! We've not had any issues with line tangles (at least, not when she was using it the way she was taught!), and the size makes it portable and easy to carry back and forth from the car. We love this rod, and it was a great purchase.

Ideal travel rod light weight and very strong The only recommendation would be to use a stronger spinning reel as this rod can take on 10lb fish
