Definitely a reliable tool, but my first attempt with it didn't go as smoothly as I hoped. I used it to cut some glass, and while it performed as expected, I didn't quite do a perfect job, and the glass ended up breaking. However, I wouldn't blame the tool entirely for my mishap—I probably just need a bit more practice! Overall, I still think it's a decent glass cutter, especially for someone who's a bit more skilled than I am.

Good for the price you pay for it.

Very difficult to get consistant cutting on thin glass.

Watch a few YouTube HowTo's and this thing works great, even on 1/4" bathroom mirrors! My process (with a few tips I only saw in one video here and there): * Set the mirror on something flat and soft, like a single layer of towel or a piece of cardboard (cardboard worked great for me) * Measure then score the foil side with an exacto knife * Flip the mirror over to the glass side and clean the glass where you're going to cut & place the straight edge * Re-measure (though you should be able to see the score line in the foil backing) and tape the back of the straight edge so it doesn't move as you score the glass. Remember to offset the straight edge as the wheel is about 1/8" offset * Grab whatever oil you have lying around (motor oil worked just fine for me) and dip the wheel into it * Score in a single pass with this cutter tool with a reasonable amount of pressure, use the angle of the fin side of the tool to set a proper angle * Make sure to score each edge completely, but with less pressure, else you could get chips at the corners * Lightly tap the waste side of the cut along the score line every half inch with the ball end of the tool softly, doing a few passes * Place a 1x2 directly under MIDDLE the cut, you don't need anything too high so the thinner the better * Pull the glass down/away from the top scored surface, if you have trouble getting a decent grip, use a couple wood working clamps with plastic shoes for a better grip and more leverage placing each at about 20% in from each edge * A soft but sudden tug should get the cut to release * Use gloves to move the glass as the cut ends will be SHARP, you can use sand paper to dull these edges, but be careful not to peal the foil backing so sand up/away from it rather than down to avoid flaking along the edge * Enjoy your cut glass :) Practice on a few waste pieces to get your technique down, but it really wasn't that hard with the process above! I managed to cut a 48.25" length and a 16.75" length on a recycled bathroom mirror I got for free off Facebook Marketplace, which was MUCH cheaper than getting a local glass company to cut a piece for me.
