As for its specific capacity, please refer to following cases: Case 1: When the magnet of the hook is adsorbed to horizontal thick steel, the direct pull strength can reach to the best, which means the hook can hold up to 12lb/5.5kg. Case 2: When the magnet of the hook is adsorbed to vertical thick steel, theoretically the hook can hold 1/3 of its full capacity, which means can hold up to about 4lb/1.83kg in this case. Note: Direct pull strength – A plant hanging from a magnetic hook adsorbed to a steel or metal ceiling would be an example of “direct pull”. Some of following facts or even more may affect the capacity of the hook: the texture quality, thickness and smoothness of the surface that our hook is adsorbed to, the friction force, etc.

Strong little magnetic hooks!
These little hooks exceed my expectations. I bought to hang a weekly calendar from the fridge. Granted at 12lbs per hook weight - it's overkill and then some. But I bought the stronger ones so I can use the other to hang my garden hand tools in the garage. Couldn't be happier with my purchase!

Just what I was hoping I would find.
These are great to hang oven mitts or aprons on the side of the fridge. They are pretty strong and don't slide down when you hang items on them.
