I bought this particular dummy battery connector specifically because it sources power from USB, so it can either be connected through a standard USB adapter to AC mains or to a general-purpose battery pack widely available for use with cellular telephones. In my case, I already had external battery packs with 20,000mAh, 25,000mAh, and 30,000mAh capacity, many times the rated 875mAh capacity of the standard LP-E12 battery (or 1,100mAh for extra capacity) that fits the camera.The battery insert fits exactly, and there is a rubber plug on the battery door of the camera that can be opened to pass the connector through to the battery insert in order to power it, thereby allowing the battery door to be closed normally.Only two problems arose. Firstly, while a standard tripod head would pose no issues with the Canon M50, a large tripod of the kind found on heavy professional studio tripods might conflict with the power lead coming out of the bottom of the camera, but there would be workarounds using additional tripod fittings. Secondly, the Canon M50 if allowed to go into sleep mode will draw so little power that a battery pack can time out and turn off, and the first time this happened to me it took a while to figure out that the solution was simply to turn the battery pack back on.But this battery eliminator does exactly what I need it to do, which is supply hours and hours of power from an extended external battery or (obviously) unlimited power from a wall outlet.

Love this product, I use it everyday with my canon m50 which its battery life is horrible. I use it with a PD ravpower power bank and it lasts me days of constant use. High recommend with a M50 and a small rig cage. I have a small rig cage with a battery bank holder. I have a side handle to balance the weight but it works really well.I plan to also use the coupler with my streaming/school setup later.

This dummy battery is working nicely for my canon m50. So far there are no issues and I will be updating if anything changes. I recommend this dummy battery for m50 owners. If you own another type review it because I only know how it works for my camera. I also recommend using a power pack due to me not trusting the power source straight from the wall. I do not want to fry my camera.

I bought this POS to power my Canon M50 camera in the event the camera battery ran low on juice during a Zoom meeting or other event. I tried to hook it up within 30 minutes of its arrival, but it simply did not work. I tried using the 5-volt power adapter that came with it and I also tried a different adapter. I even tried plugging it into my computer's USB port but nothing worked. I sent the seller an email regarding the problem and requested a call-back, but I received no response. It's going back to Amazon for a refund.

Solved my problem of batteries dying every 30 minutes while filming. Popped this sucker in and was able to run the camera for hours. Haven't tested it to failure but I trust this thing and will buy another when I get a second camera.
