I have a “4” person Eskimo shack and it is fine. My son and I ice fish a few times a year and that size is great for us. It’s good quality and blah, blah. However, once a year we do an extended family weekend trip and the boys all go out fishing after breakfast (so we don’t have to clean up) and the lil Eskimo isn’t even close to large enough for 4 adults and 1 13 year old. This guy will be though. Now I haven’t had it on the ice and I’m not sure “waterproof” it’ll be but I don’t care. It appears to be pretty close in quality to my OG. I’ll probably just use it a few times a year and at less that half the cost ya can’t go wrong. The bag isn’t as durable and mine came with a small slice. No big deal. Shipping was fast as well. Can’t wait to get out and drink beers……I mean slay some hogs!

It's as described, I would advise anyone buying it to buy waterproofing spray, but for the price of this tent. Adding a little bit of water weather proofing is not bad. (it's water proof to a point, small threading holes may leak a small vaporous drop. Not mad at it, for the reasons why I bought it.I bought it to test if it would be a night time stealth camping tent, making my own floor for it. This was just to test if it be a cheap alternative to buying a Shift Pod Mini.If your like me, and buying it to see if it make a camping tent.Weather proof it with spray, use a tarp for the ground, a sheet sprayed with water proofing spray, then a rug cut for the inside, layering it. Don't stay in it during the day, unless you have a good solar generator like myself to run a fan.For ice fishing, if a pitch black tent can keep it smoldering hot during the day time, like it did for me on a cold, mountain, 38 degree, spring time day. I am sure it will keep you warm ice fishing on a lake in winter, just make sure the sun is on your tent. Doesn't take to much to heat it, small propane Mr Heater will do.

This item is very heavy, as other said. I bought the "8 person" one so yes, it's heavier and that was not a huge deal. It's bulky and won't travel inside a vehice without taking up most of your space.Roofrack job.I opened the cardboard box. I was careful as I know what is inside.Immediately I coujd see a tear/cut in the bag, before I unzipped it. The cut is about 3/4 inch long, one straight cut.Then I opened the bag and carefull looked at the fabrc. Still have not taken the item out of its carrier. And I see ANOTHER tear/cut, a 90 degree tear about one inch each side. I'm not going to go any further if this is the beginning!I called Amazon who is sending a replacement and I will retun this, the other or BOTH if the other has any defects or weaknesses.I will give them a shot since I do need the item, I don't really want a refund but I won't pay for something that has two very noticeable tears before I even inspect the rest.This is appalling Quality Control on top of the rest. ANYONE could see these tears. The item should never have been shipped out. Don't send things to your customers that other customers didn't want becasue they are defective: We notice and we share about it, you know.Very poor show. These are not weak seams as I read in other reviews. There may be weak seams as well, but I did not get that far. These are rips and tears and this is not a new product. This is what other reviewers described and I ignored.I want to be fair so let's see what the second one is like but if there are any defects I will get a refund. Tis really is disappointing as the material is nice, solid enough for the price, and had it not had tears it really would be just fine.Let's see. I'll let you know.No problems wiht the replacement item: one reminder: this item retains condensation beautifully so plan your air flow! It has vents and windows and zips so make sure the air can move othewise it literally runs down the walls within an hour!I am still hanging in with it. We'll see how it does in summer. Mine has black plastic lining which I would not describe as insulation. It just keeps water in.Give it a go. It's not expensive, is it? Not really, so let's be reasonable. It will work for some; not others. It will be ideal for some settings and for others take your lighweight quick setup quick teardown emergency tent.

lets start off with the good, this was cheap shipped quickly and showed up in one piece. it is only big enough for 2 men which is fine as only 2 of us go fishing together. it keeps the wind off you and does trap the heat from the heater. also does a decent job of keeping the wind off you. it is also easy to set up once you do it a few times. it also anchors pretty well to the ice and the hasn't had any problems with trying to blow over even in a super strong wind. the windows are pretty nice as well and the velcro on them hold them pretty well closed even in strong winds.onto the bad, this thing is not waterproof it self. it relies on the shape to be waterproof just like an umbrella. if you touch it while the outside is wet then you will get wet. also any standing water on it from a crease will drip through. it also has a small awkward door to get in and out of and its not tall enough to stand up fully in so you'll be hunched over the whole time you aren't sitting down.overall its okay and for the price can not really say its terrible. but it is small and I wouldn't say cramped but its pretty cozy with you and your buddy in it plus a heater.

I was looking for a tent that I could use on my utility trailer in a price point I could handle. As a stand up tent, this thing goes up fast and breaks down fast. The blackout coating is also very nice. Being that this is a winter product, I can't ding it on being somewhat prone to leaks. If it rains, some of the joints leak, as do the windows. It is very hot in the summer. I would use this for ice fishing. It is a good value for the price so far.

This item would be perfect for multiple people I’ve fishing. The seams did appear to be pulling a little when set up, that might be a potential problem. Would definitely set it up to air it out as the plastic odor is strong. It did not meet the need we had so we did return it. We were able to get it back in the original box for return.
