This book has a very professional content. It could be considered a textbook. The price is steep,yet with the very helpful sizing charts and clear instructions for creating clothing patterns, it is worth it. There are many pattern ideas for boys and girls and plenty of how to information for creating your own designs. I would recommend this book to anyone serious about creating patterns for children. The metric sizing is no big deal, flip your measuring tape over to metric.

Excellent resource for drafting and designing your own sewing patterns. A must have for all sewers that design their own clothing and make patterns. Also makes converting patterns to pdf format easier. Fantastic reference and go-to books that I am so very glad a teacher (teaching how to make pdf patterns) recommended but does not have the text book pricing! I got all 3 books for my birthday - Metric Pattern Cutting for Women's Wear, Metric Pattern Cutting for Menswear and Metric Pattern Cutting for Children's Wear and Babywear.

I refer to it when I draft new blocks or play with established styles. Home sewists ready for a new challenge will also find it a great resource. As always Aldrich's books are a must for anyone who pattern makes. Childrens wear is a new enterprise for me, and I found this book most helpful. Easy to understand, good instruction and visuals. Highly recommend.

has a number of charts from baby to plus sizes of the standard body measurements in metric. I have had to convert to imperial so using the book is a bit slower. The book gets right to the point without extra detail or explanations. Not a beginners book

A great resource! The instructions are clear and well written, yet no important steps are skipped. Definitely recommend for anybody wanting to make their own patterns. Also, if you plan to make patterns for sale, this is a must.

Superb guide to pattern cutting for children's wear. It's up to date, clearly presented, with a broad age range of clothing patterns. I just adore Winifred. Period.

This book is essential to any sewer looking to design or adapt their own children's wear patterns. I regret not purchasing this earlier. The instructions are very easy to follow and if you follow them exactly, the pieces fit perfectly. I do recommend investing in either metric grid paper or a "metric" grid mat (most are in Imperial inches only) to go under your drafting paper. It just makes squaring off measurements infinitely easier. Another caution is that you must understand garment construction to actually assemble the garments. There are no assembly instructions for the pieces - this book is exactly as advertised and teaches Metric Pattern Cutting.

Best book ever. Easy to follow, draft and understand. All the collection is a MUST HAVE to anyone who wants to start drafting your own patterns.

I bought both the Women's book and the Children's happy with both. If you are a beginner or a little experienced this is a great product.
