Tectra 6200mAh Li-Polymer Replacement Battery for JBL Charge 2+, Charge 2 Plus, Fits JBL GSP1029102R + Tools

My JBL Charge 2 was no longer holding a charge. I watched a video on how to replace the battery and ordered this Tectra battery replacement because it included the tools. I'm glad I did because you do need the small tools specifically the flat head screw driver. Really, the small flathead screw driver is the only tool you need to use. It is flat and small enough to wedge between the grill and rubber casing. I tried using the metal pry tool but it was too thick and large to fit in between. The flat head screw driver was just the right size to create space and then you can you use the pry tool. Once the back grill is removed, it is only a matter of unscrewing a bunch of tiny screws and then carefully pull the battery compartment out and unplug (disconnect) the battery cable. Make sure the replacement wiring and connector matches the original. The black, white, and red wires should be in the right order and connector notch lines up.Replace the battery and reconnect then screw everything back in and reinsert the battery compartment. You can power on and test it before screwing everything back in. If things don't work as normal then something is wrong, go back and check. During my install, I somehow disconnected the battery when reinstalling and the speaker was making a static noise when powered on. I had to go back in and check and reconnect the cable. Everything worked as normal afterwards. Battery charge level was indicated properly and I connected my phone via Bluetooth. No issues.Absolutely satisfied with this Tectra replacement battery for my JBL Charge 2+. My speaker works like new again. Highly recommended.

Like many other reviewers, the wiring was reversed from what was shown and how my original battery was wired. I tried an exchanged and ended up with the same problem.Going to end up buying elsewhere to get what I need.

Replaced this battery in my granddaughters JBLBlue tooth speaker.Looked it up and u tube to get an idea on how the installation goes I bought the battery and followed the directions. The battery fit perfect and the installation was easy now new life in the speakerAnd it works great...I would recommend

The model number of my Charge 3 starts with GG0301, not sure if it is 2015 or 2016 model. The leads were too short and the connector the wrong size and pin spacing on this battery. I cut the lead off the old battery and spliced in a longer section here, being careful to offset the splices, insulate them, and not cross wires during the process. Rather than a soft plastic spooger to open the case, the kit came with a metal flat lever - not great for scarring. Works once installed.

I strongly advise you to take apart before ordering to make sure red wires are on the right. Many small screws and tight parts so go slow and don't force anything. Product came in less than 24 hours. Installation was OK, except for getting the wires connected - a small space only made possible sue to the included tools. I imagine JBL doesn't want to make it too easy so you'll buy a new one but I love the Charge2+, so it was worth the hassle. Putting it back together was a LITTLE easier than taking it apart. Hopefully, this battery will last me another 4 years.

I originally thought I had a bad battery because it wouldn't take a charge. What I found when I removed it was that the connector pulled out of the connection point on the speaker. The wires on the replacement battery are way thicker and do not bend easily. It took a lot of carefully bending the wires while installing the battery back into place. I got the battery to work. But I am a little concerned that the connector will come loose with the added stress added by bending the wires so much. I will recommend that the manufacturer uses a thinner guage wire or wire with thinner shielding. As an installer I would consider maybe heating the wire up a bit to soften it, but don't know it would work. Once it was installed it took a full charge, but I don't know yet how the battery will perform.

Charging light was on but it did NOT charge at all

There are plenty of videos on the web how to disassembly the speaker for the battery replacement (if you are not a 100% about your battery type, do the disassembly before you order!). Just follow them and you will be good!After replacing the battery and putting everything back together, I let it fully charge, which took me almost a full day for the first time, but the device is working well again and with this new battery it is portable again :). Recommended product!
