This book is overly thorough. I wanted the basics - what the premise is, what the ideas are, what the requirements are and then ideas around cooking, preparation etc. It really doesn't have much on the way of recipe/meals, meal prep - it goes very deep into the history and science and metaphysical/quantum mechanics of Macrobiotics, not that I dont often find that stuff interesting but I was just overwhelmed with WAY more information than I wanted. It isn't a difficult read however and if you're a person that wants to know EVERYTHING there is to know about Macrobiotics, this is the book for you!
