Effective but should be cheaper.
The convenience is hard to beat; just stick it in there and turn it on. I saw another review where the unit didn't open up, so I made sure to place it just above the heating element and used a hot cycle. The walls were noticeably cleaner, but I know there are cheaper alternatives out there--you're partly paying for the convenience with this one.
