Actually caused hum rather than preventing it!
Bought this specifically to avoid any humming from fan motors and the fact that it would support two fans. Actually CAUSED the motors to hum when my old, lower rated switch did not. Returned.

Not a great product so far,I let the low price lure me in ($8.50), and I have another fan or two I may try it out on,but on the first fan I tried, the fan became a MUSICAL INSTRUMENT!it's possible it's just incomparable with the Hunter fan I tried,but WOW I've never heard a fan hum this loudly on all speeds (and I'm an electrician!)Also, the on off button on the bottom feels on the flimsy side,I'll update this when I try it out on another fan,Thanks
