Dry rot
My lanyard dry rotted it was a year old and I actually only used it for 4 months because of the hurricane I've been working on my house went out finally got back on the water was out there and I pulled my hand and the whole wristlet thing fell apart thank God I didn't fall off my ski because it would have kept going. They were kept in the house due to the fact I wasn't on my skis since last August 2024 I purchased them in June of 2024 and finally got to use them again in August of 2025
