Q: Do these leave a residue after burning? (Something that would coat a firepit?)

They leave no residue, but they're crap for starting fires. They are lightweight, no mass, just basically some wood shavings curled up in a ball There's no apparent impregnation of anything that would make them burn for any length of time, so you have to use a bunch of them to get anything going. The listing says they burn for 10 minutes. That's a flat lie, the best I've gotten out of them is 2-3 minutes each.

Q: Will these work in ooni pizza oven?

If you can sustain a fire in the oven, this will work to get it started. It will be up to you to keep building the fire to get the oven to the right cooking temp. I hope this helps.
