How do I know if this is the real deal?

I have ordered this 3 times off Amazon and it is 100% real deal. Not a fake.

Price was $85 so I added it to my cart. Still $85 in my cart but when I checked out the price increased to $98.73!! in minutes!?

Do you pay a sales tax? Also does that include shipping?

Is this real or a fake? It seems like a fake. What is Amazon doing to make sure the fragrances it sells are authentic?

Twinmom, -- The order that I placed was “Sold by Amazon” (SBA) and “Shipped by Amazon”. My understanding is that Amazon is making more of an effort on these products to ensure what they sell is real. IMO, SBA is still basically a "marketing" program to maintain competitive pricing and it is not 100% clear how they maintain authenticity. I am even more wary of Fulfilled by Amazon and Third party vendors which are questionable in my mind. US Govt research has shown a significant percentage (40-50%) of these are counterfeit, but this was based on a small test base. Amazon does state they have a rigorous program to pursue and de-platform fake products and vendors. The price in Dec 2022 was $99 (considerably more that it is today) and closer in line with other major vendors, so I was not buying a super highly discounted product. It was also "Sold by Amazon" and "Ships from Amazon". Due to this I had more confidence and have been happy with the product which I do not believe it is counterfeit. My concern today is that the price is half of other major vendors (Nordstrom, Sephora). That price spread sure seems to be waving the “Fake” flag, but that is just MHO
