Great backpacking stove
This thing works great! We took it backpacking in place of our Jet Boil stove. It heats water in 4-5 minutes with a few sticks. You feed it from the top which is easy. We bought the kit to try all the pieces. The pan is pretty much worthless as it is very small so we bought a 47 ounce capacity titanium pot to set on top of the stove (7 oz with a pan lid from Snow Peak). You put the cross pieces in the top and the pot on top of them. We were able to cook cereal and our home dehydrated food this way. You heat the water then put it in the pot to rehydrate and cook your food.Pair this with the 'Epiphany Outdoor Gear V3-Pocket Bellow' to keep your fire going strong. No more worry about running out of fuel on your outing!

Excellent portable camp/survival stove! Would be better if capacity was larger for its size.
I bought this after two years of wanting one - it was the last item I needed to complete my 96 hour bugout bag. It's the smallest of the Kelly Kettles. I bought this one in particular because it could fit within my 27L Tactical Assault Pack. It is a quality piece that should last as long as its taken care of (by taken care of I mean not dented and abused). I chose stainless over the aluminum because I figured it would hold up a bit better than the aluminum as far as use goes.I highly advise anyone new to using a stove like this to use it before you go out camping or intend to use it for survival. It took me a minute to figure out how to package all the accessories into the sack it comes with to minimize clanging and banging. I also had to peel the protective blue wrap off the pot supports - something you don't want to do when you are hungry or in a hurry to eat!It also took me about 5 minutes to stoke a fire to start boiling water but that was mostly my error. Putting the right materials to start a fire is essential, but supply air into the holes by adjusting so the holes are pointed towards the wind is even more important. It was because of this that I had my fire fizzle - but because of the good design, I added more fuel (small twigs and dry grass) down the chimney, adjusted the air holes and voila! After the fire was roaring, it took all of maybe 2-3 minutes to boil the 19oz of water it holds. With that said, if you buy this model, you'll notice that the chimney is awfully wide. This may to ensure good airflow to work under "the most extreme conditions" (as KK puts it) but it seems that it could be a bit smaller to accommodate more water capacity. Without actually doing the math, I'm sure just reducing the (inside) diameter 1/2" would double the water capacity. But again, if you want or need a small stove for camping or survival, this is it! Don't plan on this thing supplying food/water to more than two people - you'll be better off buying the Scout or Base Camp models (if you can allot the extra 3" diameter and 2-3" in height) so you aren't stuck in one place too long.

Small and Handy and Very Green
This Kelly Kettle is ideal for one camper. It is large enough for single meals and is very environmentally green. Break up some dead twigs and have a hot meal in just minutes. It takes longer to find the fuel and light it than it takes the water to get hot. Breakfast of oatmeal and hot chocolate in the mountains in minutes is a great feeling. If it is supper that you need, just heat water and pour over your favorite dehydrated meal and you do not even have to pack the fuel up the trail. I love the Kelly Kettles as I do have the large and now the small kettles. And You can even cook in the pot and pan if you desire. Just buy the Kelly Kettle Kit which is a sound purchase and have a complete way to cook on the trail.

Not as practical as you would think
This product is very sturdy, well-built, and the design is superb! It works exactly like it says, and it does what it says it will do.Then why only a 3-star review? After reading the reviews and watching all the YouTube videos I was super-excited to try it out, but after actually using it several times I realized that it is really quite impractical for most of the uses I would need it for.My recommendation to you would be to think it all the way through before making a purchase. Maybe a rocket stove is really all you need.

poorly made, way to expensive for the quality
I had purchased one of these last week at a local army surplus store, not knowing what it was i had asked one of the employees and he gladly explained it, i then made the purchase for 40 bucks as it was used and went home to research after some research i was not happy to know it was constructed from poor metals and doesn't last to long on the field,, i just took it on a camping trip this weekend and it seemed to have a crack in the water bladder area, so alas this product sadly won't hold up even if i buy it new, and not to mention the outrageous price on something made of aluminum

small is fine for one person, any more than that, get the next size up.
Great little backpack item. I bought the smallest one, which was ok for one person, but I think I would've preferred the next size up now. I took this to Haiti as we went up into the mountains. It boils water pretty quickly. There is a little bit of a learning curve with it, ie how much grass/leaves to get it started, etc.

Awesome kit
I bought this kit for road trips, Lacrosse and just in case. It's a wonderful kit, well made, boils water super fast and uses very little fuel. It's also great to use in conjunction with science experiments. All in all, I recommend the Kelly Kettle wholeheartedly.
