In Every House, on Every Street

I first learned of this book after seeing a YouTube video of Harry Styles in his pajamas reading it for the BBC (you’re welcome) and it is so cute! It quickly became one of my 5 year olds favorite books, sometimes we even read along with Harry ;)

I thought this would be great for my reception class to talk about different homes and families, but very very middle class perception - fine if you'd like a picture book with pretty illustrations but not representative of most children.

It's a nice, big book. Artwork is detailed and fun to examine. No story as such. We see inside the houses of different families, this is a 'showing that all sorts of family make up is out there' book and it does a good job of doing that.

A beautifully illustrated hardback written in delightful rhyme about family life. I purchased this for my 6-year old daughter & 4-year old niece. The book takes you through a journey of a day in the life of a family in the different rooms of a typical home. In amongst the fun of playing, laughter & singing, the author cleverly interweaves messages about the importance of being able to talk about feelings, saying sorry & wiping tears away. A heartwarming addition to the library of any family.
