20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (Collins Classics)

This story is one of the classics and for those ready for the journey one that is certainly worth a read.A word of warning to those thinking that is resembles a Walt Disney film, the book is far more of a biologist saga rather than an outright adventure although it is that too.Very prophetic in so many technical ways even when compared with to today.Most people know that basic story and it is of course a great one.

For many readers, thiis Verne classic may seem hard work. Much of the prose, in the long novel is taken up with minutely detailed accounts of marine life from algae and invertebrate animals to sharks, bony fish, whales and other marine animals. All are carefully described in rich detail. That is fascinating for anyone interested in marine life on earth. But such detail slows the novel's pace and that could try the patience of readers who are not fascinated by marine flora and fauna. If you have seen the Disney film of Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea, be aware that novel is strikingly different from that.

The picture looks as if it's a full size book, it's not, it is a pocket size book. The paper is quite plain too. Planned this to be a gift and had to return, as wasn't suitable for a gift.

Could not put it down probably the quickest book I have ever read. Absolutely brilliant. Ten star's. Probably will read it again in the near future.

Jules Verne's book anticipated some of the features of modern submarines and drew on an encyclopedic knowledge of the oceans. I can thoroughly recommend this book.Captain Nemo is an enigmatic character who has turned his back on the world in order to explore the depths of the ocean. His very name means "nobody" and the exploration of his enigma exercises the thoughts of Professor Arronax as much as the natural phenomena which he describes in graphic detail.

What a brilliant read,I loved every minute reading,a superb storyGreat characters and action packed,with lots of suspense too, great through out the whole book!

What I adore about this book is the combination with WhisperSync for audio and tape. The actor is brilliant. The text version is the shortened version while the narration is the full version and the sync is 100% timely. Much appreciated 🙏. Thanks Amazon, for this version of one of the world- recognised Vern's novel.

20,000 leagues under the sea was a great book. I would recommend it if you have Kindle unlimited jewels Vern does a great job in this book

Condition of the paperback- 10/10About the book- this is by Jules Verne, perfect to gift to those who are into classics and science fiction.

The book is very small, I should have searching more about that, because it have ONLY 56 pages! However, the figures is very beautiful, what turns to be out of great help to those one who want a immersive visual experience.
