Sarrano Telo Gomez was born in 1835 in Sariego, city Asturias, Spain, into a watchmaker's family which consisted of 12 siblings. Sarrano was the sixth sibling and was the creative child within the family. Sarrano had a charming smile and innocent blue eyes that won everybody's heart even his father's. At school, Sarrano was given a nickname Sartego (short form for his long name Sarrano Telo Gomez). He loved his new name and introduced himself to others as Sartego rather than his real name.At a young age, Sartego was very dedicated more to watch making rather than playing with his friends. Every day, after returning from school, Sartego could only be found in the basement of his house helping his father in watch making. Sartego learned the basic mechanical skills from his father. However, he already had the artistic and creative skills in designing unique watches. He even impressed his father who was an experienced watchmaker. At the age of 12, Sartego put together is first watch, which he wore throughout his lifetime. At the age of 18 Sartego had collected enough money to make a trip to the heart of the watch making world-Switzerland. It was his fathers' dream to make a Sartego a Spaniard with watch making talents that would be known around the world for "Quality and the art of time-keeping." Sartego was sent to Neufchatel, Switzerland where Sartego's father had a friend named Van Der Lehures who was also in the watch making industry and ran a small workshop of 20 people. Mr. Lehures accepted Sartego as an apprentice into his watch making business. There Sartego learned all his skills of making outstanding timepieces. Sartego had surprised many big watch manufacturers in Switzerland and was a being offered jobs he had always dreamt of.In 1865, Sartego married a young charming lady named Ana Lucia. She gave birth to two sons by the name of Fernando Sartego Gomez and Harold Sartego Gomez. It was 1875 when Sartego received the sad news of his father's poor health. With the love of his father in his heart, Sartego left back for Spain and met his father a few days before he died. Sartego's father handed over a key to the basement door and asked Sartego to carry on the family tradition of watch making and to create a name in the watch industry that would make Spain proud. Sartego kept up that promise and turned his basement into a watch making workshop. He employed passionate young men and women to become heirs of the Spanish watch making industry.1901 was a mourning year, as Sartego, who once was the time-keeper (forefather) of Spain's watch industry has passed away in his deep sleep. He was still wearing the same watch that he had made when he was twelve years old. Until today, Sartego watches are known for "Quality and the art of time-keeping" within the international watch industry for the sophisticated and the world class movements used in making Sartego watches. Sartego's sons Fernando and Harold carry on the life long tradition of making Sartego 'Quality and Luxury Timepieces.' See more

Excellent watch!
I purchased this watch after reading a review of the same watch on amazon with a black dial. I also had done a lot of research on other watches.I was looking for a men's dress watch that was lightweight, showed the date, did not have a huge face, and had a red or green dial. This was a wedding gift for my now husband. He loves it! The maroon/red face was perfect to match our colors and the titanium band is extremely light. The face is smaller, but readable. I know the trend is going toward larger faced watches, so it was nice to find something that wasn't huge and gaudy. The face being sapphire instead of quartz is a huge advantage in scratch resistance. It's absolutely amazing. For the price - comparing to other dress watches (especially with titanium bands), you could spend another $100 and not get a watch this nice.So far, the only issue I have seen with the watch is in setting the day of the week. It has the option for Spanish days of the week - which is a great feature - however, we haven't been able to get the watch to correctly read the English days of the week. I'm certain that once we have more time to play with the watch - setting it - we will have it set correctly. Oh! The unscrewing before you can pull the pin out to set it - genius.Love the watch! An excellent buy!

Good for the price.
I give 5 stars due to the low price. It's a nice looking watch. The red face is a little darker in person. It is an old school thin watch, relatively small for a man these days. I resized the bracelet using an Invicta re-sizer that I have; it took about 5 minutes. The titanium bracelet is a bit noisy, but since this is my first titanium watch I'm not sure if this is due to the titanium or due to an inferior bracelet. The end links are hollow. The safety clasp is stamped. There is no protective coating on the titanium so it will scratch (as it has already after a few hours of owning it). On the other hand, I think it's the cheapest titanium man's watch on Amazon, so you get what you pay for.

Wonderful budget titanium watch
Wonderful. Looks higher quality than the price suggests. I love small, light, titanium watches and this fits right in. It was obviously a little large upon arrival, but I was able to take out 3 links myself with little issue. Just get a very small tipped screwdriver and little hammer and you can pop them out. Don't lose the tiny pieces! The red is much more subtle than the picture suggests, but is still apparent and a nice contrast to standard blue/black watches. The band is scratching pretty quickly, but I tend to hit a lot of things, so that was expected. I wish the adjuster knob was a little smaller as it can occasionally dig into my wrist when bending up, but this is rare and easily fixed with a shake of the wrist.

Very nice quartzwatch
Very nice quartz watch, the Titanium finish is exactly what I was looking for. The maroon dial is nice, but the black dial might be best for the silver writing/branding on the dial. The case/design of the watch is fantastic, although its a more classic design and is not a large watch. Happy with the puchase and has kept wonderful time so far. The screw down crown is a plus at this price and does a lot for this watch's water resistance.

classy
Chose this watch due to it having a deep burgundy dial..decided that even though i liked the dial,it is too thin for my liking.Gave it to my wife who loves it.
