Samsung Chromebook Xe303c12 Replacement Laptop LCD Screen 11.6" WXGA HD LED (Substitute Only. Not a)

This is the second time I purchased a replacement screen for the Chomebook Series 3 11.6". It is mainly used by my children. Relatively easy to replace screen, but the 4 small screws do not line up well. You may have to use only two or three of the screws. Attention: If any of the screws are not fully screwed in, it will cause the plastic cover to crack when you put it back on after replacing the screen. Better to leave them out if you cannot line the holes up to get all the screws back in.

This screen's fit and finish is at least as nice as the original matte finish screen, and possibly better due to the glossy finish (which I believe adds to the sharpness of the display). It is more difficult to see if you have a bright light source behind you (such as a lamp or a window), typical of glossy screens. You can't have it all...Viewing angles seem to be about the same as the original screen. Moving left and right produces some color distortion, but it's still very readable. Tilt the screen back far enough (or move your head down), and the screen gets darker but, again, still very readable. If you tilt it too far forward, it will try to wash out at certain angles. Again, no better or worse from what I remember of the original screen.I haven't found a dead pixel on mine yet. Some reviewers of this product or similar products noted red lettering that they couldn't remove. I thought the same of my screen. I mentioned it to my wife and she asked if it was a screen protector. *Palm smack*! There is indeed a protection screen that comes when it ships, though it's so thin and clear that I didn't realize it was on there. Sure enough, it, and the lettering along with it, peeled right off.Overall, I'm extremely happy with the quality of this product, especially for the price paid through Amazon Prime. In my opinion, this adds a lot to this little Chromebook, and it's almost worth replacing the screen just to get the glossy finish, even if you aren't replacing a broken or a cracked screen. It's that good.

I dropped my Chromebook and cracked the screen. I was searching online for a local shop to fix it and was reading very mixed reviews of the services available in the area.In the course of that search, I came across a YouTube video showing how to change the screen on a Chromebook yourself. Turned out there are a lot of videos showing you how it's done for any brand of Chromebook. After checking out several of them I decided to fix it myself.When you order the screen you need to be sure it's the same size, has the same resolution and the same back light style as the screen it's replacing.This screen arrived promptly and was very well packaged. Given the packing, chances of it breaking in transit are minimal. It was a perfect replacement for my broken screen and works beautifully. In fact, I'm writing this review on my Chromebook.It did take me about 3 tries to get the screen connection right, but that had more to do with the nature of the connection than the screen. OK, and maybe a little clumsiness on my part contributed. Check out the YouTube videos and you'll be fine. Even with my 3 attempts it took less than 10 minutes to replace the screen.

Screw holes improperly lined up. So while the new screen is working it is only being held in by the bezel. With it being held in tightly i'm using it right now as i type. All the model numbers and everything match up, too lazy to get a new screen. if i were to be using the chrome book as a more serious laptop it would be an issue but i cant bring myself to care. its just for netflix and reading.

The screen was well packaged by the vendor, original Vivo box inside Amazon box. The Samsung chromebook was designed to easy screen replacement or swapping as the screen is module-ized as one piece. There are plenty of how-to replace videos on the web for this Chromebook model.I replace the screen to my chromebook in less than 5 minutes. Turn off chromebook; snap the screen plastic border panel out by hand, unscrew 4 screws, unhinge the metal connector lock handle then pull connector out, take out the broken screen assembly; position the new screen assembly, connect the connector to it, snap the metal connector lock handle down to lock, place the screen assembly back to its place, screw in 4 screws, snap the screen plastic border panel back in; spend 1 minute to inspect the work then turn on the chromebook; done.I ordered this Vivotechnology screen from Amazon and the screen fits exactly everywhere including the screw holes. I was concerned about this because some of the earlier reviewers mentioned that the screw holes of their ordered screens did not match the chromebook case. But I did not see that, everything fits perfectly as the original.

The screw holes didn't quite line up; however it was not a problem. The plugs fit just fine and when you snap the plastics around the screen, it holds it in place no problem at all. The only thing to keep in mind is this screen has much more gloss to it than the stock screen. It is not a perfect replica; however, I would high suggest this to anybody with a broken screen.

I was concerned when I read reviews that said there were letters or symbols permanently marked on the screen because I didn't want that to happen to me. When I received mine, there was a protective plastic film over the screen that had on it the letters "AJ" or something similar marked in red. In my case, the film was obvious because there were bubbles under it. The film peeled right off, along with the letters. It's disturbing to think that there might be people who installed this thing with the film left on who think they are stuck with the permanent letters on their screen.To the manufacturer: Perhaps some instructions indicating the film should be removed would be a good idea so you don't get negative reviews for a simple misunderstanding.The screen works flawlessly, and installed in literally less than 5 minutes.
