Like most folk, I wanted this so I can record old VHS to digital. The box had all the leads and a SCART adaptor, and a CD with drivers and software. My laptop doesn’t have a CD drive (do any these days?!) but it was a breeze to find the software and drivers on the website for download. Everything just set up and worked on my Windows 11 PC. Software was intuitive and the picture and sound quality was as good as the original VHS. One slight blip when I first got set up was loosing the video preview. Rebooted, reinstalled, all to no avail. Contacted tech support who got back in under 12 hours with the fix (launch the app in reduced colour mode). Since then, I’ve captured about 10 hours of VHS footage… Does what it says + intuitive to use + good quality + good tech support = happy customer!

Easy to use. Been able to successfully convert 3 VHS tapes so far.

I installed and used this capture with my Win10, 64bit laptop. the software and driver install is very simple just download from the web and followed the instruction. the box still includes a Scart to Composite adapter and a set of RCA&S-Video extension cables all that's needed for a standard hook-up to the VHS player. it works perfect with Honestech VHS to DVD 5.0, i can record my old mini VHS tapes, and save them as mp4 on my laptop. overall, good value as it did exactly what I expected.

Sadly, this product is unusable. The person at product support tried to assist but after several attempts and trying to install replacement software on a PC running Windows 10 I had to give up. The product offers to do the job but it fails to live up to expectations. I am returning it for a refund.

Not too sure about this. Had a lot of trouble transferring VHS- Computer. There was a email to contact for help which they were helpful.

i have had one of these cables before, why i cant remember. the hard ware was brill and the soft ware was easy to understand. i used this to download a video off a old tape video camera and everything was successful

I used this to connect an old vhs video to my Dell pc - after following the helpful set up guide it worked well

First off, the s-video connector is the wrong type (female) - i.e. as the output device you want to connect to. So you cannot connect it to your camcorder or VHS player without an adaptor. Next - running the software on a Intel Core i7-7700 with 32GB and fast NVME drive, the software is incredibly unstable. If I dare to move the window the interface just hangs and you have to start again. Finally, the quality of the capture was abysmal - looked ok in the capture software's preview window, but once converted it looks awful. I tried different capture settings but much the same results. Waste of time and money. Luckily Amazon had extended return window for Christmas so was able to return for a refund.

Je suis très satisfait de cet article. La copie du CD fourni s'est déroulée sans aucun problème. J'ai pu transféré le contenu de plusieurs cassettes VHS et une dizaine de cassettes HI-8 de mon caméscope sans problème. je l'ai fait sur mon ordinateur sous windows 11. Ca prend du temps mais ça fonctionne. La qualité de copie est vraiment correct. En résumé, c'est 50 euros, il y a le travail et le temps mais ça revient bien moins cher que de confier ses cassettes à des firmes spécialisées.

The audio and video quality are very good considering that it is capturing from a VCR. Included driver worked with no fiddling around. Unfortunately there is no Linux support for this device, it requires custom drivers and does not appear as a USB A/V device.
