Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral Powder SPF 45 3.4g/0.12oz

This product is compact and easy to use, I carry it with my in my cosmetic bag. I need a lot of sun screen since I have a very light skin and live in CA, and my dermatologist told me there is no point to treat my rosacea with laser if I don't protect my face, its just going to be a waste of money. So I went through a lot of sunscreens and a lot of them are good but the problem is that they only last couple of hours and then I need to reapply, but I have a makeup on my face for the whole day so I can't put a cream on top of it without messing it up. I was struggling with it a lot until I found out about powder sunscreen. I love the idea and even though it dries my skin a little bit, I accept it for protection benefits. This powder is not colorless, it has a bit of a tint in it which in my option is good because I can see that I applied it a little bit. Because of how its packaged, that's the only way you can tell that its coming out of a tube. The color is very light though and doesn't affect my makeup. The only think I can't confirm is how much it actually protects. I've been putting it on and I didn't get burnt yet, but I can't measure how effective it is exactly.

This sunscreen is perfect and works well to protect my skin during my long runs. It convenient and very easy to use. Love it.

I ordered this product because most mineral sun block is 30 SPF or less. This Peter Thomas Ross is a 45 SPF, so I wanted to give it a try. It made my eyes look really dry. I have used 30 SPF from another brand that doesn't make my eyes look that dry. The problem is the container that it comes in. After my first application, I looked like I had dog hair all over my face, the brush shed really badly. It doesn't look or operate like a quality applicator. My other mineral applicator is much nicer. So I decided to transfer the minerals to the applicator that looks and works much better and doesn't shed. That was a mistake as it made a mess. I did get most of the minerals in my other applicator and I will not be re-ordering this again. I was overall disappointed.

This product is a very effective way of protecting the area around my lower face which has a tendancy to hyperpigmentation/melasma whilst on the go. I would have given it 5 stars but, as other people have mentioned, the packaging is terrible and makes it risky to carry around. Firstly, you cannot replace the lid once you've removed it because the brush is so coarse and just doesnt want to go in. Secondly, I'm now on my second one because the first one spilt into a handbag from the underneath which became loose causing the powder to fall out. Shame, as this is otherwise such a good product - hopefully they will pay some attention for the full 5 stars.

I use this every morning as a finishing touch to my makeup. It's very sheer and light - no weird coloring. The powder is in the base of the unit, and in order to use it you have to shake or tap the container in order to fill the brush. By pulling down on the base, the brush can then be retracted and the lid put back on with ease. The only problem I had was when the bottom unscrewed and half the powder dumped out. Very disappointing. A word to the wise: do NOT twist the bottom, just pull it straight down. There is a warning to this effect printed on the end, but I didn't expect it so didn't notice it....
