Excellent cable
The cable works just like a...cable. The coating allows for some plasticity which lengthens the life of the cable by slowing the breakage. The weight rating works perfectly for my 55 lb dog who does not know what the 7 foot fence is there for, so she jumps it. The spring tension allows for some elasticity in the snap back properties, so when my sweet but not so brilliant girl goes to attack a rabbit just out of cable range she will not break her neck. I would recommend this product and will continue to purchase this product every six months or so. Do not worry, this sweet girl spends over half her life inside, and only goes outside on her run which is a 30 foot cable running on a 20 foot guide-wire when she wants to hang outside, go to the bathroom, or chase rabbits, squirrels and chipmunks.

Needs extra support
I have officially had this for my dogs for a year. We use it on our deck to let the dogs go out to potty since we don't have a fence. On 3 separate occasions my younger beagle got loose and ran off (he came back after hearing us call for him) and once my older beagle got loose but stayed in the yard. The clip was like someone physically unhooked it from their collar each time, still perfectly intact on the rest of the cord, just unattached from their collars. I decided to use a carabiner along with the clip and haven't had an issue since. Living in PA, I'd be devastated if either of my boys ran off and was lost in the cold. So just beware that your dog may get loose if you use this cable as it comes. It would have 5 stars if it weren't for them coming unhooked so many times because the cord itself has lasted us longer than our previous one we bought from a chain pet store!

Great Tie Outs
We have several dogs, ranging from 8lbs to 85lbs. Since we do not yet have a fence, we have been using these types of tie out cables for early morning and bedtime potty runs for the pups. I've been through Walmart versions, Petco ones, and a few others. These, however, have stood up to the groups' shenanigans, as well as the weather. Through cold temperatures and hot or rainy ones, the colored coating didn't become brittle and crack like many of the others. They also did not tangle as much and were easy to untangle when those few situations occurred.

Doesn't last long
I am giving this product a 2 star because it lasted 3 weeks or so but I would rather give it no stars because the swivel came apart and my beagle took off. My dog weighs 25 pounds and the swivel seemed like it would be strong enough to hold him but he was just out investigating some plants and then he was gone...there wasn't even a rabbit around to make him yank on the cord. That is very disappointing. And yes, I got my dog back hours later but bob cats and cougar are out right now so it was worrisome. The swivel seemed like a good idea but it needs a product redesign so that the insides won't come apart.

Excellent tie out cable
I have an 11lb min pin, so not the world’s most ferocious dog, but he can run like lightning when he spots a bird/squirrel, which has wreaked havoc on less durable cables that eventually snapped. This one has gone with us on multiple camping trips and other adventures, and is still holding up well. It’s light enough that it doesn’t weigh him down, but thick enough to be sturdy. It’s also been outside in some wet conditions and has dried out fine, no rust or other damage visible so far. Glad I gave this cable a shot, it’s met our needs well!

Love these!
I love these tie-outs! I have purchased several over the years, they work great for my 17 lb dorkie dog. I usually get a couple years use out of each one, they eventually will get cracks and need to be replaced before they break from being out in the weather. They are lightweight and pretty durable. Just be careful not to get them around your ankles, they do keave a mean burn!

Nice length and good quality
My dog loves the extra length and has been able to explore more of the yard. My only complaint would be the latch (that accounts for the 4 star rating). It kept coming unhinged and my dog escaped à few times. The fix was to switch it around and use the wrong end. Seems very durable and I love the color.

Very Sturdy.
We used this tie out for our dog that is a strong puller. He has snapped multiple leases in the past when we tried to secure him. He remained tied and secured with this while we were camping over the weekend. It didn't tangle on itself, was easy to install on a post and had good visibility with the coated cable. We definitely felt that he was more secure with this system than using a standard leash or rope.
