I bought this for my kindergartener who just came across a weighing related exercises in her math book. It was hard to explain the concept without a real balance at hand, so I just quickly found this little toy, and it served the purpose well. My kid loved it, and she's been still playing with it from time to time.

This was used in a preschool when discovering and predicting “which weighs more…worked great for 4 year old hands!!

Be aware that this is a very cheap product. It doesn't like to actually balance, and can't hold very much in either cup. Also, it is very small. I got it to use in math class to demonstrate properties of equality, and I had to keep saying, "Use your imagination that the balance is evenly balanced," as it would still lean to one side or the other. If none of that is going to bother you, then go for the savings. But I'm already looking for a different product for next year.

the scale is perfect for what i needed for my son, very thin and light though so keep that in mind when buying it, super easy to assemble though and works for intended use
