I'm a leather crafter and these designs look great on the 8x5.5" journal covers I love to make. Some of the designs in the Celtic book overlap into this one, but they're either scaled up or down in size. I also love tattoos, and there are a few I'd like to show my artist. Worth the money.

I like a lot of the art in this book- but I should have done more research because I have another book of Celtic designs that has ALL of the same Celtic designs in it, as well as some of the dragons, because it's the same author...my bad for not realizing that! so I have all of those in a book I already own. There are a lot of designs in this book...lots of different categories too. Also, If you like drawing it's a good reference to have. It's good to have the designs the size they are, and my favorite category is floral- I'd like to find a book that has herbal/ plants as well as flowers and a wider variety of the symbols section. This is a nice book to have though, lots of designs, I guess I was expecting more diversity but again that's on me for not looking into it further. And I believe the author does a lot of work as far as Celtic symbols so the book is a bit of an extension of that. (That was my thought on it..I'm just going by the other book I have by the author)

I saw a few pics of pages from this book and grabbed it. Not because I will ever get a tattoo, let alone ever create one. I wanted the designs for tracing for illuminations (on SCA scrolls) and for straight-up coloring. And this book has many lovely designs for both of those purposes. There is a mix of line art and shaded art; the latter cries out to be done with watercolor washes as overlays.The book loses stars for coloring purposes from the ultrathin paper and binding. The paper is almost transparent, with the designs from the other side pretty clearly visible through most of the pages. I'm going to have to scan and print, which means basically disassemble the book, because it's physically small but thick, and the perfect-bound binding does NOT lay flat. I'm wishing there was an electronic version where I could just print the pages I want, but oh well.For tattoo purposes, it's a weird assortment of images. Way too many variations on some themes, while other themes I commonly see in tattoos almost completely absent. Many of the animal designs look like they came straight from Dover coloring books. There are a lot that look like pencil drawings (lovely ones), and then pen-and-ink versions of the same drawing -- but the latter look flawed or awkward, drawn using only a single pen size.I had a decent idea what I was getting, and given that I do coloring and several crafts where these assorted designs could be useful, I'll get my money's worth out of the book. But if you're a specialist artist, artisan, or crafter, you might not.

My son luved the book it was a gift to him. He said it was the best tattoo book he has seen and we will be ordeing a 2nd for my other son. They like to trace the drawings for they make art pictures for ppl to get tattoos.

I bought this for my daughter as a present and when I got it I couldn't put it down. I needed to see it all before I even gave it to her. She loved it too.

Worth the money for what it is. However if you are in to realistic looking tattoos maybe this ain't for u. For a beginner it a awesome book to build ideas from or reference

Not really what we thought as a tattoo book. No real tattoos just drawings

It came on time.Not my kind of book but as it is a present for someone that does not matter.

Rubbish the drawings are crap must have been done by a two year old book only worth about 3 pounds
