Solved the problem.
I didn't know whether it was the tip switch or the thermistor that was faulty, but it didn't matter. Pilot light wouldn't stay on and the heater wouldn't light.10 minutes to replace these parts and the heater works again.

poor quality
i bought 3, installed them and only 1 worked. I changed them to test if is was the heather and I was the heather and I was able to verify that the heather are good. the parts that do no work.
