Finally A Solution.
A very quick read and very well written book. Irene makes a good point about Africa, and lets be honest here; only Africa can solve Africa's problems. If Africa can keep the pace up and let China help, Africa will be a major player in the next 10-20 years. Globalization is dragging everyone up the economic ladder, China is doing that with Africa now because the Chinese see the future. It is amazing what has already changed in the last decade in Africa. No it will not be easy, but if this all works out Africa will join the developed world in the next 2 decades.

Want to better understand development strategies as a whole and China in Africa especially?
Really fascinating look at contemporary Africa from the perspective of Chinese private investors. I have a deep interest in development and this too short by half volume taught me a great deal about the nuts and bolts of that subject in selected bits of the great continent. Irene Sun, an American, has a good deal of life experience in Africa to give her the real world back ground for her work. She takes several examples of actual people struggling with the many difficulties of doing business in Africa. She also explains through example what it takes to be a success on that often confusing and chaotic place.Brightly written by an ivy league academic who has a style that draws the reader in. She is as engaging as a thriller writer but to a very serious purpose.
