Wonderfully odd iridescent paints
Golden's Interference paints are a bit hard to understand until you use them. They're transparent, except when they aren't. They're "metallic" - more truthfully iridescent, but the effect comes from interaction with the background color, not strictly from the paint itself. They're more effective on dark backgrounds than on light. The color listed for the paint is the color you see on a black background; reflectivity and color may vary depending on what you're painting over. In other words, they're a bit odd... But once you understand them, they unlock a world of creativity.I use the Fluid Acrylics for miniature painting; they work well with other hobbyist acrylic paints for that purpose, and they come out of the bottle at about the right consistency - no need for thinners.
