These pads work well for headaches, especially if you keep in fridge, but you don't have to. My family suffers from frequent headache/migraines, (different locations) we all use them and have found that they help . If my headache is just normal I can use without any meds and it takes it away, A more severe headache I use with headache meds for quicker relief. As long as your forehead is clean, not sweaty or oily or lots of makeup they stick very well.
