Sixty Selected Studies for Trumpet, Book 1 (TROMPETTE)

Geez, another 60 studies for trumpet or cornet to torture teachers and students. Meh.
These 60 studies are neither better nor worse than hundreds of others one can find among the works of Arban, Clarke, and Saint-Jacome. Unfortunately, unlike the aforementioned teachers of historic renown, the author rarely (never?) explains the purpose of a given exercise, nor how it might be practiced and played to greatest benefit for the student. Compare Herbert L. Clarke's SETTING UP DRILLS, in which Clarke prescribes tempi, alternate articulations, and timings for the various groups of exercises and you might better appreciate what is MISSING from this book.

Great for those looking for a challenge!
I have been using this book for sightreading practice and to improve my technical skills on the trumpet. This books is great for people that want to improve their technical skills so They can better read sheet music that is around grade 3 or maybe 4 with a little less trouble.
